2026 Goal: Get Every Ring Fit Adventure Title

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - But first, how my Nintendo Switch is dedicated to being a Ring Fit Adventure machine.

Since I am one of millions of Nintendo fans that own a Nintendo Switch 2 (and one of... probably much less than a million that uses it primarily for playing Kirby Air Riders 2 and not much else), what should I do with my first Nintendo Switch? Should I just put it in a box and keep it under my bed to fend off the boogeyman? Well, I thought about that, until I remembered Ring Fit Adventure...

Ring Fit Adventure and Nintendo Switch 2 Compatibility

Now, Nintendo's official website declares that Ring Fit Adventure is compatible and compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. However, Nintendo's official website also says that the Leg Strap and Ring-Con accessories are not compatible with the Switch 2's Joy-Con 2 controllers, but they are compatible with just the original Switch's Joy-Cons. You can wirelessly connect the Joy-Cons to the Switch 2 (as opposed to physically attach to the console), but you cannot recharge the Joy-Cons on the Switch 2. Methods of charging Joy-Cons include attaching them to the Nintendo Switch in its dock, and there are also dedicated Joy-Con charging station accessories that I never bought because...why would I?

In other words, you can play Ring Fit Adventure on your Nintendo Switch 2, but only as long as you use another console's controllers and another console's charging methods. Given that, the best option is to just dedicate my Nintendo Switch to Ring Fit Adventure and keep it hooked up to the big TV in the basement.

(By comparison, my Nintendo Switch 2 is hooked up to my desk monitor of my normally two-monitor desktop setup, where one of the monitors is hooked up both to my desktop computer and to my Switch 2. In case you didn't know, my first Switch was hooked up in the same way, meaning every time I played Ring Fit Adventure, I moved my Switch's dock and cables and console from my desk to my big basement TV, and then when I was done, I either moved it back to my desk, or kept it down there if I didn't anticipate that I was going to play anything else. Ask me in the comments section if you want to know more about why my set-up is this way. I privately questioned in the past why anyone would need two Nintendo Switch docks, and yet here I am.)

Ludwig's First-Ever Visit to a Physical Therapist

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - An evaluation appointment. Treatment appointments to come. (Now updated at the bottom of the article.)

I haven't played Ring Fit Adventure since the start of 2023. There is something resembling a good reason for this: I've been in pain for the past four months, particularly on my right hip. As opposed to persistent pain in my left hip at the end of 2021. You probably have the impression that my body is a mess. You would be right.

Since I haven't been totally following my chiropractor's fitness advice (and my chiropractor helps me feel better but doesn't cure my pain in the long-term), my primary care physician suggested I go to a physical therapist (PT). It takes quite a while to schedule an evaluation appointment with a physical therapist, since I suppose they're in big demand. (My doctor also refused to let me get an MRI or X-ray because he thinks I'm too young to have problems). But today I finally got one! For the first time ever. Lemme tell you what happened.

Trying Nintendo of Europe's Ring Fit Adventure Custom Fitness List

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - This is way more like it. Let's exercise to that!

Last week, I wrote about the scandals surrounding Nintendo (of America) releasing an article about getting moving and energetic with a certain list of videogames. This list went out of its way to omit Ring Fit Adventure (a prior version of the list in 2021, which served as the first draft of the 2023 list, included Ring Fit Adventure).

I'm very pleased that Nintendo (of Europe) listened to the message of my article that was critical of their American counterpart, and this week, they published this article: “Kick-start the year and get moving with Nintendo Switch Sports and Ring Fit Adventure”. This article went into significantly more depth about getting active with only those two games, Nintendo Switch Sports and Ring Fit Adventure. Nintendo correctly identified Ring Fit Adventure as the “more intensive” and “full-body” option, and also advocated for people to try out the Overhead Press, the Wide Squat, the Leg Raise, and the Mountain Climber exercises.

It's very good that Nintendo (in Europe, anyways) continues to advertise and promote Ring Fit Adventure, which is still a fantastic Japanese roleplaying game controlled with actual, physical fitness exercises and movements. While the game doesn't appear to be on sale at this moment in Europe, it somehow was on sale in select retailers last week while Nintendo (of America) refused to promote it. I managed to convince fellow KoopaTV staffer Witch Princess to buy Ring Fit Adventure at one of those select retailers. She hasn't played it yet because she's had a bad hip, and I know from experience that exercising—and you should consider playing Ring Fit Adventure to be exercise—with a bad hip is a bad idea.

But since she won't, I will. I'll play in Custom Mode with the four exercises, in that order, that Nintendo of Europe suggested in their article!

Ring Fit Adventure Game Gym Minigame Tier List

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Ring Fit Adventure's Game Gym minigames have a wide range of bad to fun!

The Game Gyms are a very key feature to the main Ring Fit Adventure adventure mode experience. They broke up sometimes lengthy running and combat segments with sometimes creative and fun fitness applications in a very videogame-y environment. Game Gyms got the most attention in World 10: Grandminion Gauntlet (and later World 33: Extra Fitness Lv. 211 and then World 56: Fitness Master Lv. 316), but they also played that important diversion role in most of the other worlds, often with a cash or item prize for completing them well enough.

Ring Fit Adventure has twelve of these Game Gym minigames, and they each have two difficulties: Novice and Advanced. The Adventure mode occasionally has another variety where they put fog into the game, but we're going to ignore that for this article because anything with fog universally makes the gameplay experience much worse with no added fitness benefit. For this article specifically, I played through each of the minigames on each difficulty via Custom Mode, and fog isn't available in those. (No one sane person would willingly set that on, anyway.) I also have QUITE a lot of experience with the Game Gyms before today, since I've beaten and 100%ed Ring Fit Adventure (except for getting all of the Titles), documenting this experience on KoopaTV's other Fitness Logs.

Unlike when I made a minigame tier list three months ago for No More Heroes 3, for Ring Fit Adventure I'm going to go from worst to best. I am judging these minigames mostly based on their entertainment value, but a minigame's fitness value might also be taken into account if the workout itself physically felt fun... or if it physically felt awful. But this isn't based off what will get your body the most fit.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 69: Finalia, Fitness Master Edition

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It's the very last world of Ring Fit Adventure. Like, for real this time. THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM.

This is it. Today, this KoopaTV Fitness Friday... will probably be the last KoopaTV Fitness Friday. I will document my adventures through World 69: Fitness Master Lv. 392 of Ring Fit Adventure. This should be fairly obvious, but... this will contain spoilers for how the game ends. ...On its third playthrough. Which will share a lot of similarities for how it ended on the second playthrough, World 46: Extra Fitness Lv. 284.

Ring Fit Adventure Finalia World 69 Fitness Master Dragaux determined boost level
I'm already ~65 levels above what's recommended.
Why is Ring Fit Adventure outright telling me to grind for experience points?
The time for that is over. Now we're in the last world. It's time to win.

First of all, when we got to World 69, Ring commented that Dragaux's energy is... radiating from the Dragaux Stadium. Therefore, we need to grind for levels and make sure we're confident in our ability to beat him for the zillionth time. ...And second of all, I got a notification that all of the games’ catalogs have been completed. I HAVE COLLECTED EVERYTHING IN THE GAME. (Except for all of the Titles.)

Ring Fit Adventure completed all catalogs notice 100%
With everything done, nothing else really matters at this point.

And third of all... now we can see what the Metallic Neuron looks like. This is the super special fashionable outfit we received at the very end of World 68 last week. Here's a photo collection:

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 68: New mattress vs. Daylight Saving Time

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Which will impact my sleep quality more? ...Why is this my headline for the second-to-last world?

Time for... a scary week of fitness. I don't mean in a horror sense, but I do mean in terms of the amount of effort I need to exert this week to finish all of World 68: Fitness Master Lv. 383 in time. Very different than last week's filler world. Why? Because this is based on World 45: Extra Fitness Lv. 276, an insanely long world with 17 levels. I've been playing the entirety of Fitness Master mode at the highest difficulty level, 30. That ain't gonna change.

Before starting on Sunday, I went and got a new mattress for my bed. Hopefully I can sleep better and without waking up in back pain. I'll give progress reports. Sleep is particularly important now because Sunday was DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME in the United States. One of the worst days of the year, and a sleep-killer. As for starting Ring Fit Adventure, Ring asked a stupid question and said he's eager to show the Four Masters our progress. (C'mon, we saw them all as recently as the end of World 66, two weeks ago.)

Ring Fit Adventure World 68 Fitness Master Lv. 383 Four Masters found their way to Hades
...If the Four Masters DIDN'T make their way back to Hades, WHY WOULD WE BE HERE TO BEGIN WITH?

Location-wise, we're in Hades... or basically the afterlife, because when you have a vore fetish, you end up killing people (or being killed, depending on where you are in that). So the filler world last week was us heading to the afterlife without committing suicide, but instead just... walking up to its entrance. I dunno. We'll similarly walk (or jog) through the world's first course, the Exercise Paradise. Same stage as Marathon Field back in World 66, but with scarier enemies. Like the last monster group has TWO Scuttlebells, and those are the sturdiest common foes around. After that trial, the game forces me to open a Treasure Chest with one EXP-doubling Carrot Soup inside. I'm sure there are many good opportunities I can use it for ahead. (Speaking of EXP, I'm at level 447 after finishing that, so... far above what they're asking for.) After that is the Town with nothing for me to really buy, though there is the old man saying his skeleton would have been better while he was alive if he just had more calcium and Vitamin D. ...And I'm Vitamin D deficient, so... he doesn't want me to turn out like him.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 67: The last filler world

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - And the third-to-last world in general.

Sigh... one last... filler world, really, left in Ring Fit Adventure. That's what I'm bringing you today. We're venturing in the land that's between the physical world and the... afterlife. After last week's Fitness Log had a vore sequence. This is World 67: Fitness Master Lv. 376, which you should think of as a storyless version of World 44: Extra Fitness Lv. 269.

Ring Fit Adventure World 67 Fitness Master Lv. 376 bit of time Four Masters powers fully absorbed by Dragaux
Ring seems pretty happy that Dragaux's digestive system isn't instant, so we can dick around this filler world.
Those three warp portals contain a total of six additional courses and three overworld Treasure Chests.
(Two levels, two Game Gyms, a Battle Gym, and a Fitness Gym.)

The first level we're going to is called Jog-On Bog. Doesn't sound fun. And it wasn't. Foggy, too. They could've named it the Fog Bog. Of a bit more interest is that I've done my 2000th Revolved Crescent Lunge Pose repetition here, so I earned the Crescent Nebula Poser Title. I guess that's all the Revolved Crescent Lunge Poses I'll do for the playthrough now? This gave me access to General Store Number 61 (and the world's Town... but there are zero NPC inhabitants). The only clothing that I haven't bought yet is the Game Machine III, but I need three Zircon for that and I only have one. I also have access to the first warp point and the two Game Gyms: Squattery Wheel (Advanced) for a Defense Drink and Robo-Wrecker (Advanced) for a Strength Drink. ...I got A ranks on both on my first try, though Squattery Wheel's was pretty iffy at 84 points. The overworld Treasure Chest here had one Dragon Fruit. Pft.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 66: Regularly Scheduled Vore

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - I can't handle it.

In these uncertain editorial calendar times, one fortunate KoopaTV “mainstay” (...well, not by the end of this month, actually, since there's four worlds left and four weeks in March) is KoopaTV Fitness Friday. Last week we discovered Dragaux's third wish as a child. This week, we're heading to World 66: Fitness Master Lv. 370. This is based off World 43: Extra Fitness Lv. 263, and the lore of the world is that it's a dark place where Dragaux is constantly exercising even during the night, so no one can sleep. Lack of sleep is a problem I've been having, though it doesn't seem to be a problem right now because Fitness Master doesn't do story, and as a result, there's no constant Dragaux banging noises in the overworld like there originally were. When I entered the world, Ring asked if I've been doing the opening and cooldown stretches, and he expressed that they may be tempting to skip, but I shouldn't skip them, because it's fun to see how my body is getting better at stretching. ...For his information, I don't skip them. Ever.

Ring Fit Adventure warm-up cooldown stretches training dialogue
Yes, and I've done so for every day this week, too.

In fact, it's fairly important to have stretched, because the first two challenges in World 64 are a Fitness Gym and a miniboss fight. Starting with the Fitness Gym... it's the Trapezius Set. And there are SIX Fit Skills involved, which is more than the five for the past several worlds. Here's the list and my thoughts on each. Remember that for the entirety of Fitness Master, I've been on difficulty level 30 (the highest it gets), so the rep counts reflect that:

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 65: Biceps like Boulders... or Everest?

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Fifth-to-last world of this game!

Welcome to another KoopaTV Fitness Friday, where I'm supposed to be giving off positive wellness vibes but I'm kind of mostly complaining about how Ring Fit Adventure's Fitness Master mode is less than barebones. You can see a lot of that in the last world/week's Fitness Log.

Anyway, this week we'll be going to World 65: Fitness Master Lv. 364. It's supposed to be based on World 42: Extra Fitness Lv. 257, which takes place in the Robot Kingdom. It's inhabited by just robots. ...And monsters. By all the NPCs are robots. They used to only speak Binarese (and dealing with their language used to be a plot point with gameplay-story integration), but have since learned English (meaning there's no gameplay-story integration... or story at all). I'm expecting this world of robots to be... devoid of emotion and excitement.

I started Ring Fit Adventure late Sunday night, after doing pretty much nothing throughout Sunday besides... taking a nap after having a long sleep. Saturday night I was in a lengthy Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament (stream replay here) that went well past midnight and the hour after. I ended up losing the Grand Finals after resetting the bracket (meaning I came from the loser's bracket and then won 3–0 vs. the winner's bracket winner, meaning it's another best-of-five that I couldn't pull off). Ring said another variation of “try Fit Skills you haven't used before!” and that's all the dialogue I'll get, I guess. Ohohwan River was our first course. It immediately opened up with a river rowing segment... and there's also water coming from the sky, too. (Y'know, rain. As a preview for what's to come in real life this week.) It also ended with a river rowing segment and an unmissable Treasure Chest featuring one Rose Quartz stone. And with the river behind us, we're... 1/15th done with this world.

World 65: Fitness Master Lv. 364 Ring Fit Adventure dialogue slight changes stance movement new muscles
If I use new Fit Skills (what new Fit Skills?) I can work those newly invented muscles!
How exciting! (Watch this never happen.)

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 64: A Trainer is like a Tailor

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - They both make you fit.

Welcome to this week in KoopaTV Fitness Friday, where I'll try to spare you snow-related rants. I guess snow is better than fog. Unfortunately, the world we'll play in today, World 64: Fitness Master Lv. 358, is a snow world—different than the green fields of World 63 last week. Fortunately, we don't have to shovel it. Unfortunately, we went from the world that World 64 is based on, World 41: Extra Fitness Lv. 251 and its “Field Day” of a bunch of returning NPCs with unique dialogue hosting events (which actually have gameplay implications), to... Ring saying this generic stuff and no other dialogue until the boss at the end of the world.

Ring Fit Adventure World 64 Fitness Master Lv. 358 worked really hard appreciate improvement
Ring's other dialogue here was “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single rep!” (The quotation marks were included.)
No other dialogue until the boss fight, so the other screenshots will be...uh...sparse.

With the idea of amusing dialogue but a memory (or I could go play the Triangle Strategy demo?) I went to the first course, Shivering Valley. Cold indeed. Mostly a flight level, with ground segments just to have monster fights (there's no aerial fighting in this game). The second monster group dropped a Garnet stone, which is good, because back in Extra Fitness once the bosses and gyms started dropping Rose Quartz, I was missing the Garnet I needed all the way until Fitness Master began. Case in point: There's an unmissable Treasure Chest after that monster fight and before the last (and fourth) flight segment containing... a Rose Quartz!

The next course is the Wintry Watchtower, which really does involve a tower (and climbing it). Midway through the trek was a Treasure Chest containing one Dragon Fruit. I completed the course and got access to Town and General Store Number 58, and it turns out that that last Garnet I just picked up randomly is the last Garnet I'll ever need! And now I'm 98% done with both my Tops and Shoes clothing Catalog, but only 95% done with my Bottoms clothing Catalog. That difference is from me needing Rose Quartz (and Zircon). I'm sure I'll collect a lot of the former in this world. Let's continue south towards some overworld Treasure Chests. The first contained stones... but they were two Amethysts, which are unnecessary. And now I gotta do an Aerochute (Advanced) Game Gym. At least it's only night-time there and not foggy, and the reward is five Black Tea Leaves, good for some money-doubling Black Tea. Also, somehow I got a new record of 4,850 points, up from 4,800. I guess the maximum is 4,900, but they're all S ranks.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 63: One WEIRD Trick to Stick With Your Training

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - There's only 69 of these worlds. Why is goal-setting the theme of World 63?

My goal with these weekly KoopaTV Fitness Friday entries is to inspire myself (and you as well) to have a more active lifestyle in order for a better sense of wellness. That's important! Even if, like last week's Week 62, I'm not go-getting into every difficult opportunity I possibly can.

I'm achieving this by playing Ring Fit Adventure, a great JRPG on the Nintendo Switch where your actions are performed by real-life physical exercises. I happen to be on World 63: Fitness Master Lv. 354 this week—which means it's actually my third playthrough. (Because World 63 is based off World 40: Extra Fitness Lv. 247.) So it opens up with my companion Ring asking me what my current goals are:

Ring Fit Adventure World 63 Fitness Master Lv 354 goals working toward smoothie gear
I already have every smoothie.
But yes, I do want to collect every single piece of gear.
(And if I didn't want to do that, I wouldn't still be playing this.)

I have a gamer's eye for completion, so I will complete every course in this world before moving to the next one. First course? Hamstring Marsh. Not to be confused with ham the meat type that I won't eat. This world as a whole re-reintroduces new enemy types based on dark-influenced animals and robots, such as the Dark Blue Hart. Normally you see animals roaming around the levels like deer, fish, eagles, foxes, etc. But back when Ring Fit Adventure had a plot, World 17 was significant for the dark influence causing random animals to go feral. There's nothing really different about these new foes in terms of game mechanics than normal monsters (which still appear, though aesthetically, monsters poof in while these animals are already standing there when a battle loads), but they're just... variety. For example, Dark Blue Hart is weak to Legs Fit Skills like other blue enemies, and is weak enough to still be ORKO'd by a one-range Legs Fit Skill, as well as ORKO'd by a super-effective three-range Legs Fit Skill too (but just barely with my 2323 Attack stat). And just as importantly (at least at my level, 417, which is much higher than recommended), they can be 2RKO'd by normally effective spread-range Fit Skills of any colour.

The course after was called Sweat Street (at least it doesn't claim to be a road), featuring the Red Dark Eagle. (I should mention that these animals only come in one colour, so no green eagles or yellow harts.) There's also a chest with a Garnet stone. After the course I finished the Squattery Wheel (Advanced) Game Gym (in only two tries to get an A rank!) and won a Persimmon Smoothie, which doubles EXP gain for one battle (or for an entire Battle Gym). Then I went to Hangon Bridge and fought a Green Dark Flamingo—normally these should be... pink. It also introduced the scrappy Yellow Dark Fox. I think Flamingo and Fox got robbed, since Hart and Eagle each got their own intro courses while Flamingo and Fox gotta share.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 62: The Three Shrieking Squat Sisters

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - ...Sisters being three Fit Skills. Not actual characters. I WISH there were characters in this mode.

Today (as of when this is published on KoopaTV Fitness Friday), the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games has begun. Rather than being in China like I was in Japan for its 2021 Olympics, I'm at home working out in Ring Fit Adventure for no particular purpose other than that being fit is a good thing itself. Beijing is awful, and I don't want anything going up me.

This week, we're playing Ring Fit Adventure's World 62: Fitness Master Lv. 349, a continuation of last week's World 61: Fitness Master Lv. 344. World 62 is the Fitness Master version of Extra Fitness's World 39: Extra Fitness Lv. 243, which was notably boring in terms of dialogue and quite torturous in terms of physical activity. That's guaranteed to happen again in World 62, so let's get into it...

The week began on Sunday, January 30. Ring asked me in the opening which part of the body I'm most focused on, and to avoid the temptations of taking shortcuts and avoid testing my weaknesses. ...Wotever. Anyway, there are a LOT of courses in this world—and they are biased towards having Leg-Fit-Skill-weak enemies. I've maxed out the Titles (achievements) for every Legs offensive Fit Skill besides Overhead Squat and Wide Squat... and I have no intention of maxing those out. The first course is Wingflap Falls. The first enemy group is of five enemies, four of them Blue or Cobalt-coloured. Do I go for the five-range super-effective Overhead Squat? Nope. Two rounds of neutral-effective Standing Twists will clear them out. And faster (in-game-time and real life time) and without breaking a sweat. ...Alright, I acknowledge that I'm fully leaning into my temptation to take shortcuts and avoid testing my squat-based weaknesses. But you should be happy I'm doing the monster fights at all instead of just jumping over them.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 61: How many ab packs can you count on Dragaux?

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Also, finally getting Garnet stones. It's a big deal.

I am not looking forward to being disappointed this week from playing Ring Fit Adventure's World 61: Fitness Master Lv. 344. (On difficulty level 30.) You see, this world is based on World 38: Extra Fitness Lv. 238, which doesn't sound like anything important, but THAT world is based on World 15: Quizton. If you're looking for guidance on navigating Quizton, click that World 15 link to KoopaTV's 2020-era Fitness Log. Because this week I'll be doing all of courses in the “wrong” order—my goal is 100% completion, and getting the right answers can lock out content, apparently. I'm not sure if that'll apply to Fitness Master, which is a mode that strips out location-based world-building that was established in the first playthrough. Which is what I find disappointing—my Extra Fitness log is mostly me lamenting that the game doesn't go deeper into how dysfunctional a society Quizton really is. And I'm expecting World 61 will not go deeper either. That's just the trend for Fitness Master, continuing off last week's World 60: Fitness Master Lv. 337 (Thankfully, fog isn't a gimmick in this world.)

Ring Fit Adventure eating proper balanced meals every day World 61 Fitness Master Lv. 344
...No. And I'm, like, four to five pounds heavier than I was last year.
I'm pretty sure I'm under-eating, though. ...Apparently not.

That was a lengthy preamble just to say that I'm expecting this week to be boring on the dialogue front. But let's actually play it and find out if those expectations meet reality! On Sunday I started... and got opening commentary from Ring about how I need to have a balanced diet and I need to eat enough proper meals throughout the day. Even if there's a lot going on in the day, I still need to eat! ...And off to the levels I go. Sheesh. He didn't even frame it as a quiz question. LAME. (But to answer his question... no, I'm not eating well.) In the interest of doing the wrong thing first, I pursued the Upper Road. The first monster group had a Cobalt Hoplin and a Blue Hoplin—reminder that as of World 60, there are new variations of the enemies that are stronger. But Cobalt only had, like, marginal more durability than Blue did. (Maybe 15–25%?) There was a Treasure Chest with 500 coins at the end, and... an interesting limited negation of the on-rails level design which you can view in this video clip:

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 60: I haven't the foggiest idea why there's a fog mechanic

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It's my third and final time through the fog world, so you get my fog rant again.

This week's KoopaTV Fitness Friday has a lot of potential, as I'm documenting my fitness and wellness activities throughout the week. This week, we're primarily covering Ring Fit Adventure's World 60: Fitness Master Lv. 337. Only 1000 levels away from 1337, which is a joke I already made back in Week 46 when I got to level 337. I'm overlevelled in the meantime at level 395, from the opportunities afforded in last world.

Anyway, World 60 is based off World 37: Extra Fitness Lv. 231, and the log for that happens to be award-winning thanks to the Abs Song. Really, it did win an award. The world is also notable for being the last time the enemies will scale in power and durability, with the dark influence growing stronger and having enemies change from red, blue, green, and yellow to garnet, cobalt, malachite, and ochre. In the normal adventure mode and in Extra Fitness, your player character can scale up with the enemies by purchasing new outfits from the General Store, which progressively get better and better stats. In Fitness Master, that's not the case, since the whole clothing catalogue is available from the start and everything has the same stats. That SHOULD make World 60 the start of a difficulty spike...?

I wrote all of the above without turning the game on first. Let's do that. On Sunday! Ring gave me a short speech about how I need to have good posture both when doing physical training, as well as in every day life. And I shouldn't slouch. ...That's important wisdom for writers in particular, who may often slouch on chairs when trying to type or handwrite things. ...And I have many years of personal experience with that.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 59: A Non-Vegan Cast

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The vast majority of players wouldn't get this far to know this about Ring and Dragaux.

Hello, and welcome to a KoopaTV Fitness Friday! Where I log my fitness adventures for everyone to read. In the name of good wellness.

When I entered World 59: Fitness Master Lv. 331 on Sunday, Dragaux was saying that I look pretty trained right now, and it seems like the Four Masters have done their job in getting me more buff. So he's just going to wait in one of the six Dragaux Stadiums and not tell us which one he's in. While Ring doesn't remember which one Dragaux is in (the bottom left), I do remember (and I pointed it out the last time we were in El Dorago, World 36: Extra Fitness Lv. 225, and I also want to 100% the world anyway, so I'm going to go to all of the wrong Dragaux Stadiums first. Just a note: Each of them are basically a miniboss fight, but with some minor level design (enough to fit three EXP Medals) and standard monster fight music.

Ring Fit Adventure World 59 Fitness Master Lv. 331 Dragaux dialogue sitting around doing nothing
I believe you were actually depressed about your stolen chocolate protein shake.
That's the real reason why you made no appearance in the last world, right?

I first went to the Dragaux Stadium on the far right, which has a level design of two long stairways you need to Knee Lift through into one Mini Dragaux Statue at the end. Even with a ↑↑ power smoothie, I barely miss out on 4RKO-ing the Mini Dragaux Statue, so maybe I need to wear an outfit that further boosts my attack? (Specifically, smoothies last for three turns, and then I did one and a half turns without smoothies to demolish the statue.) I focused on Chair Pose and Revolved Crescent Lunge Pose for that one. For the next course, I went all the way to the Dragaux Stadium on the far left, this time wearing the Volt Contender to boost the attack of my Abs Fit Skills. Of course, this Dragaux Stadium's level design packs all two of the ways Yoga Fit Skills are incorporated into a course: TWO Chair Pose Hold-powered cart segments (for maybe a minute each, depending on how well you hold it), and TWO Slinkbug segments where you must Tree Pose Hold for one minute each—one per leg. The fight at the end is a Mini Dragaux Statue and, surprisingly, two Gold Hoplins positioned in a way where you need to use a five-range Fit Skill to hit everyone at the same turn. I 4RKO'd the Mini Dragaux Statue with two five-range Fit Skills and two one-range Fit Skills (Flutter Kicks) and a rush attack that luckily activated, so... that messes up my damage experiment entirely. As a result, I went south to tackle the Rare Hoplin overworld fight (with two of them). I tried Planking them... too difficult. Apparently, Ring Fit Adventure asks for my butt to be higher than what a plank should actually involve. How Ring Fit Adventure wants you to plank (30 reps on difficulty level 30 for about 5 seconds each) is actually very antithetical to how you're supposed to do planks (a few of them per day but held for about 30 seconds each).

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 58: If you eat me now, you'll get triglycerides!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - I went to the doctor, shared my results, and avoided becoming a monster meal.

Hello again. Welcome to the first KoopaTV Fitness Friday of 2022! This log is based about Ring Fit Adventure's World 58: Fitness Master Lv. 328 at difficulty level 30 of 30, which is based on the map for World 35: Extra Fitness Lv. 222. Last week at World 57, we fought Allegra, Abdonis, and Armando after Dragaux got depressed from having monsters steal his chocolate protein shake. This week, it seems like we'll fight the last of the Four Masters, Guru Andma. ...Dragaux is still sad, I guess.

Ring Fit Adventure World 58 Fitness Master Lv. 328 Guru Andma enjoying golden years leisure beautiful area jealous
This is all of the exposition for the world that we're going to get until the boss fight with Guru Andma.
I feel like Ring is referencing something, but I don't know what.

To test our... brain, I dunno, the first course is Clever-Trick Temple. Within the first half a minute as the level is reminding us about pushing and pulling blocks around, there's a Treasure Chest with two Mixed Chard drinks that are superfluous. But a valuable Treasure Chest later on had 500 coins. Unlike the level this one is a clone of, Pushpull Temple, there's no Treasure Chaser segment. I won't be accessing World 58's Town/General Store for quite some time, it seems, so let's just go to the next level— Mt. Fearmenot, infamously the first course in this playthrough that uses Ring's Wings, which replaces running for repeated abdominal presses to fly through the air. Not much else to say, besides a Treasure Chest had a Peridot stone and I got triggered by the presence of one Pinwheel Door. (At least it's only one as opposed to dozens from the last level of last world.)

Actually, clearing Mt. Fearmenot gave me access to the Town, as well as many other parts of the world. I went to the Town and went on a shopping spree, using all of the Peridot stones I've accumulated thus far since it seems like we're done with Topaz... and I need four more to clear out the General Store's Peridot-requiring inventory. Hmm. Perhaps I'll find them in the Monster Den. ...No, but I found a Defense Drink in a Treasure Chest and a Topaz from an enemy drop. (By “done with Topaz” I meant story fights and Gyms will drop Peridot now... random chance may still have generic enemy groups drop whatever.) At the end of the course I had acquired the “Righteous Warrior I Poser” and “Threefold-Squat Ascendant” Titles, for doing a total of at least 2000 Warrior I Poses and doing at least 300 Squats, Wide Squats, AND Overhead Squats. Yeah, I brought the Overhead Squat to the Monster Den and wore myself out doing so, but at least I'm physically capable of doing it again. While I've maxed out on Warrior I Pose Titles, the next Title for those squats are doing all of those at least one thousand times each. Not going to happen. ...And I'm done for the day because doing Overhead Squats is exhausting, and I want to take a shower.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 57: Why did Dragaux cross the roads?

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - To find his lost chocolate protein drink.

It is time to put recess aside and get to real fitness action in this week's Ring Fit Adventure-themed KoopaTV Fitness Friday. And, hey, when this is published, I can put 2021 aside, too. ...Mostly. We'll have some Game of THAT Year 2021 nominations and awards going on, so be sure to stick around the site next week. (And every week afterwards for the foreseeable future.)

Anyway, on Sunday we're back as usual—except for those weeks I took off because I'm in hip pain, which I still have troubling remnants of—to a new world, being World 57: Fitness Master Lv. 323. That's a sizable increase from last world's 316. This world is based on World 34: Extra Fitness Lv. 217, where I made my log themed around Fire Emblem: Three Houses because three of the Four Masters appear in the world and want you to choose among them—Allegra, Armando, and Abdonis. Of course, you don't actually get to make that choice, because this game isn't structured like that. As for how World 57 actually starts, it's just Ring saying variety is the spice of life and if I feel like I'm plateauing, then I should switch up my favourite Fit Skills. Gee, thanks, Ring. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Fit Skills (exercises) that I'm actively avoiding because they would greatly strain my left hip, like Warrior III Pose and many Fit Skills that require you to lay on the floor and do things with your legs, such as Boat Pose, Knee-to-Chest, and Leg Scissors.

That's relevant because the first level is Rumbling Road, which definitely wanted me to bring those kinds of Yoga Fit Skills with its green enemy composition. And I'd love to, but I'm just not able to now with my physical ailment. Of course, in this game's combat, you can do whatever you want, really. It just might take an extra turn, or you might have to drink a smoothie, but maybe I shouldn't hoard those anyway. As for the level design, it's full of spiked logs to manoeuvre around. An enemy group at the end gave me a Citrine stone, and I thought we were so over those, though I'm happy to sell them. A Treasure Chest had one Dragon Fruit. Before reaching Town to sell my Citrine and buy things, I cleared the Dreadmill (Advanced) Game Gym for another 500 coin reward—wearing the Sunset Runner outfit to make jogging easier, because otherwise I can't run in real life. I got a perfect score (7500 points), because I exploited a trick where if you're jumping on the Dreadmill, you stay at the same X-coordinate and aren't being moved backwards. That saves effort on your legs that would otherwise need to jog in place to maintain the same position.

Ring Fit Adventure Town Man dialogue sneezing strain work core muscle toughen back
Can confirm that while I have bursitis, laughing and sneezing is physically painful.
This is particularly a problem when I think my writing is funny enough that I laugh at my own jokes.
So if you think I haven't been funny lately, I'm actually protecting myself!

Not being able to run in real life also posed a problem for the next level, Sunset Road. It might sound like based on that name that most of the level would just be running (and despite the name and that assumption, I didn't wear the Sunset Runner again). ...And while that's true, there is also the one-minute Slinkbug segment, where you need to hold a Tree Pose for 60 seconds (on difficulty level 30, which I'm on) to cause Slinkbugs to scatter. It's a good thing that had me stand on my right leg, because I'm not able to stand on just my left leg for 60 seconds. Can't put all that weight on it! Sunset Road also has an unprecedented (or very rare) THREE enemy waves, when the vast majority of levels only have two. But the third group was not anything special... just a Yellow Megaphauna and a Belldog.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 56: My Bad Recess

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - I struggle to get through recess. SAD!

Welcome to KoopaTV's Fitness Friday series, where we document our quest for a better physical health. If you've been keeping up with the latest entries (like last week's), you'll know that I'm trying to overcome an actual physical issue right now (bursitis at the left hip, which is another way of saying my bones are rubbing into my muscles whenever I move my hip... which is painful). I've had this issue for a whole month now, so I probably need to see a physical therapist. In any case, you're... not really supposed to be doing a lot of physical exercise while injured like this, but fortunately for me, World 56: Fitness Master Lv. 316 of Ring Fit Adventure is based off of World 33: Extra Fitness Lv. 211, which is a minigame compilation that itself was based off of World 10: Grandminion Gauntlet. In other words, it's the breather world I've needed. There's a lot of Game Gyms and not much running around courses.

Ring Fit Adventure World 56 Fitniss Master Lv. 316 best offense is a good recess intro
I think a good recess makes for the good defence, actually.
By the way, as you read this fitness log, keep in mind I once wrote an article advocating for cancelling recess altogether.

The world intro even acknowledges it's a breather level. Before, the Grandminions—annoying children—would chime in about the Game Gyms, but they're nowhere to be found. So let's start clearing these. First is Gluting Gallery (Advanced)—a minigame where you Overhead Side Bend into incoming tokens for points and avoid bombs—which offered me a Topaz stone for A rank or above completion. (The same minimum rank requirement found in Extra Fitness.) After scoring that, by my calculations, I'll only need one more Topaz stone to have enough for all of my General Store needs... though I'm well short on actual funds to do so. I got a pretty painless perfect score on that. Next is Robo-Wrecker (Advanced)—a minigame where you rotate the Ring-Con to control a set of robot-squishing tools between an inner ring and an outer ring and you push to squish in and pull to squish out—which gave me one bottle of Pear Juice (which changes all Fit Skills to Green-coloured, and then further increases all Green-coloured Fit Skills attack power by ↑↑) for a satisfactory A rank. And then there was Squat Goals (Advanced)—a minigame where you must propel yourself from a trampoline contraption with squats to jump and grab tokens while avoiding bombs—which gave me 500 coins when I earned an A rank. It's really a trick to squat about 30 times in quick succession.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 55: The S.W.O.L.E. System

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - F.L.E.X. is retired, but I'm back!

Hooboy, it's KoopaTV Fitness Friday again! And I think I have some explaining to do before we get to the Ring Fit Adventure content.

I published the previous Fitness Log two weeks ago: Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 54: Damaging My Body For Content. The title of that is pretty clear: I've been... injured for several weeks, and by the end of the log, identified my issue as bursitis at my left hip area. As of writing this... that still hasn't gone away. It's lessened, but not totally gone. Still, I don't physically feel great lying around and not doing exercise. So I'm trying this week to see what happens if I play Ring Fit Adventure's World 55: Fitness Master Lv. 313. Besides, it's based off of World 32: Extra Fitness Lv. 207, a world devoted to working out your arms. How much of a pain can it be? ...Well... scrolling to the bottom of that fitness log... there's... actually a lot of distance traveled... like... substantially more than World 54's that focused on the abs. I need working hips to run. ...This may be an issue.

Ring Fit Adventure World 55 dialogue Dragaux Armando work hard for their beefiness
Why do they call it beefiness, anyway...?

Ring said some stuff about how Dragaux and Armando didn't become beefy overnight but through hard work, and it's off to the mines for me. ...Well, the No-Brakes Mine, to be exact. (Before going there, I bought out all of the Onyx-requiring outfits from the General Store Number 49 since I won't be getting more Onyx in the playthrough, probably. Managed to do so with three Onyx stones to spare. Yay.) Between the Overhead Side Bend trolley, using Overhead Press against the Red Belldog enemy, and using the Overhead Pull pulley... lots of lifting the Ring-Con above my head. Deep in the mine was a Treasure Chest with Pomegranate Tea (excellent drink that increases Arms Fit Skill power by ↑↑ and changes all Fit Skills to red-coloured).

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Log Week 54: Damaging My Body For Content

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Why I took a week off... which I should have kept doing.

Hello, and welcome back to KoopaTV's Fitness Fridays. If you're reading these live as they're published, you'll notice that there was a two-week gap between this and Week 53. Let's talk about that, especially since it falls within what the fitness logs are about.

On Sunday the 21st, I had a fair amount of the day dedicated to moving and lifting a big, bulky leather (RIP) recliner out of a castle with my own bare claws. Then on Thursday the 25th, I moved that same recliner up into another castle. With stairs and vehicles and everything. Basically, that's not only already physically tiresome, but it does a number on one's wrists and being able to grip things. Since Ring Fit Adventure is dedicated to gripping the Ring-Con, having sore arms/claws/wrists is quite disadvantageous! And physically unpleasant and painful. On top of that, I had persistent pain on my left hip for basically the whole week starting on the 22nd to the 26th. It's terrible.

At first I thought I'd be playing Armando's story arc, but World 54: Fitness Master Lv. 309 is actually based on World 31: Extra Fitness Lv. 204, which is solidly part of Abdonis's story arc. That means the world is focused on my abs, not my arms. Still... I mean... my back could be better, too (and it certainly wouldn't be a good experience for my hip!), and the fact remains that arms are a critical part of interacting with the game since they're still gripping the Ring-Con. SO I TOOK A BREAK FOR A WEEK. I just wish I could've used that break to play Pokémon Shining Pearl, but nooo, that couldn't happen either. (Well, not counting the weekend.)

Finally, I went to play Ring Fit Adventure again on Sunday the 28th. My arms are fine. My hip isn't perfect, but it probably will never be. Unlike, say, Americans, I didn't eat inappropriate food portions during the week I wasn't exercising. I definitely put focus and effort into the dynamic stretching to start things off, if only because the game expects me to be in pretty good shape. Apparently. Oh, and stupidly enough, I'm insisting on having the game at the highest difficulty level of 30 despite my body being a disaster, which will be a reoccurring theme in this log.

Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Master World 54 Lv. 309 strike while muscle's hot sprinkle dialogue
My muscles aren't hot at all. They've been cooled for over a week.
(This is the only line of dialogue to start the world.
