Nintendo Direct June 21, 2023 Live Reactions!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - There's a lot of emotion involved, at least.

Today, there was a Nintendo Direct livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on Nintendo Switch titles launching this year, including new details on Pikmin 4. Watch it embedded here:

I gave a live-reacted text log (annotated with select screenshots) below. KoopaTV staffer Kamek is also present in the log... in his own way.

[9:54 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7t5jnpkCkI
[9:55 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I NEED TO USE THE BATHROOM AHH
[9:59 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Back.
[9:59 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Not sure if I did a good job wiping myself but I don't have enough time for that!
[9:59 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Some people have already asked me what I expect or want to see in this Nintendo Direct. I expect nothing. I didn't ask for this event to happen.
[10:00 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: But I am interested in the fact that media people / influencers / whomever have claimed that Nintendo backed out of E3 2023 because they have a weak lineup and have nothing to show.
[10:00 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: First thing: Pokémon.
[10:01 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Someone also told me there wouldn't be Pokémon at Nintendo Direct because Pokémon has their own event.
[10:01 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Obviously mistaken.

Grasshopper Manufacture Direct 2023 (and Delay) Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Most of the log is me waiting for the video to get uploaded!

After twenty-five years of existing (and of waiting, it feels like), Grasshopper Manufacture, Goichi Suda (SUDA51)'s game development studio, now has a Direct for the first time for fans and anyone else who cares to tune in! Personally, I've wanted to know what will happen with the company's projects after the tragic news of Chinese company NetEase Games acquiring Grasshopper back in 2021. Perhaps this Direct will clue us in? They did promise something would happen.

You'll notice that the Direct embed is not at the top of this article. That's because it was delayed for well over an hour. You'll have to scroll down past my rants about cursive writing (prompted by the embedded tweet) and Daylight Saving Time to get to the Direct embed, as well as my LIVE REACTION to the video, which was uploaded (significantly later than promised) but not livestreamed.

[11:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Grasshopper Manufacture isn't doing a livestream, but rather, a video.
[11:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Or, I can't find the livestream.
[12:00 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Well, YouTube has nothing there.
[12:00 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: They're not tweeting anything.
[12:00 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Guess this reaction log is a dud.
[12:01 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://twitter.com/Grasshopper_EN/status/1669193256633237504
[12:01 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: "We're so sorry everyone, due to some technical difficulties Grasshopper Direct is running a little bit late - but we WILL be starting soon and we'll keep you updated in real time & provide the URL soon so please check back here in a few minutes!🙇‍♂️🙏"
[12:02 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Well, I could either wait for it to start soon or I could go to sleep.
[12:03 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: How long will it be technically difficult? I dunno.
[12:03 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I KNEW THIS LOG WAS A DUD.
[12:04 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: WHY IS THEIR PICTURE TWEET "Something's gonna happen."
[12:04 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: NOTHIN' IS HAPPENIN'.

CAPCOM Showcase of June 2023 Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - WAY better than I was expecting going into it!

You ought to skip 35 minutes into this. It's also not as long as it seems (only 36 minutes) since the video ends with influencers and not corporate content:

Regardless of how well you can actually watch along with me, I'm here and I live-reacted to the CAPCOM Showcase of June 12, 2023. Coinciding with this event is a MASSIVE sale across your favourite game platform(s) on CAPCOM games. That includes 58% off (the biggest discount EVER on this) on the Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection, which means only $25 for FIVE Ace Attorney titles across two individual collections. (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.) This deal with these games at this time gets my highest possible recommendation. Consult your favoured digital game shop for more details. The sale ends in less than two weeks, so get going.

Now, onto the log:

[5:56 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.twitch.tv/capcomusa
[5:56 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRiEUtXKozU
[6:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: CAPCOM promises to discuss 36 minutes worth of content, featuring Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Exoprimal, and Dragon's Dogma 2. "And more!"
[6:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: One obviously wonders what "And more!" involves. I think there will be a segment on the newly released CAPCOM TOWN. Probably something on Street Fighter 6 since it just came out to big success. And probably something on the Path of the Goddess game they just announced yesterday at the Xbox Games Showcase.
[6:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: HERE WE GO
[6:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: "Hello, everyone!" Good start.

Ubisoft Forward June 2023 Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It feels like all of their games are the same and have been for some time.

While E3 2023 does not exist and I'm under no obligation to watch this, I'm pretty sure this Ubisoft presentation is what they would've shown if Ubisoft would present at E3 like they promised they would. (As opposed to quitting out of it, which caused the entire event to collapse.)

Live reacting to it (rather briskly) is... myself, in the middle of the day. The funny thing about me taking time off for E3 2023 well in advance is that since it's cancelled, all (most) of these individual company sessions aren't actually taking place in the middle or end of this week, but have already happened or are happening now.

[1:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrB-VSmWJJI
[1:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Dancing!
[1:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Olympic eSport dancing.
[1:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: But featuring Just Dance.
[1:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Oh, yeah.
[1:02 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: They did the Olympic eSports before, but dancing wasn't part of it.

Xbox Games Showcase 2023 + Starfield Direct Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - A two-for-one special!

For some time, Microsoft has been talking about a summer games showcase for the Xbox that would happen even if they didn't come to E3 2023. (And, of course, no one came to E3 2023 because it doesn't exist.)

Well, they're here now.

And we (well, just me) are here too to live react to what happened during that showcase. Added to the end is basically 45 minutes or so of just Starfield content, which I reacted to as well.

[12:58 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpjGFMygYtk
This is the link to the so-called "Audio Description" livestream, which I assume is Microsoft's way to say "this will have captions on the screen".
[12:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: uhhhhh
[12:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: THERE IS A PERSON READING, LIKE, ALT TEXT
[12:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: THAT'S NOT CAPTIONS
[1:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGtYn7DCIYo
[1:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: OKAY
[1:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: THE MAIN STREAM HAS A CC BUTTON IN 43 LANGUAGES
[1:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: So that's the one I want. (But now I'm really curious about the audio description stream experience.)

Devolver Direct 2023: The Return of Volvy Reaction

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Volvy!

There were several videogame presentations that happened today, but the only one I'm going to give attention to was Devolver Digital's often entertaining Devolver Directs. This also marks the first reaction log of June 2023! (But it won't be the last.)

I didn't get to react to this LIVE as it was airing, and I'm the only staff member around for it. Well, I think that's just fine. Check out my timestamped thoughts.

[7:55 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2ztnnc1_AE
[7:55 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Will be watching in 5 minutes.
[7:55 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Personally, I think it's good that Volvy is coming back.
[7:56 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: ...
[7:56 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Though I wonder if they'll make his legacy worse like they did A Boy And His Blob.
[7:57 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: The Simpsons got Rat Boy (niño rata) from Volvy's design but with Bart Simpson elements.
[7:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: And that's all I have to say before it starts.
[8:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Alright, starting.

PlayStation Showcase 2023 | KoopaTV Live Reaction

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - They either lied to regulators or they suck. Let's see which.

It isn't quite June yet, but I suppose it is close enough for big mid-year videogame announcement streams. First up, it is Sony Interactive Entertainmentnot with a mere State of Play, but with a grandiose SHOWCASE for the whole year.

The only KoopaTV staff member present during this live reaction log is myself, but I'm all you need. Let's start:

[3:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9z0atV8VDk

[3:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Apparently, this is going to be OVER AN HOUR long, so I might not know what I'm getting myself into.

[4:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: According to Sony's testimony to regulators, they don't have any games worth playing and they are dependent on Call of Duty to make sales. Let's see if that's actually true.

[4:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: STAY TUNED

KoopaTV's Live Reaction to Nintendo Treehouse: Live's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Gameplay

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - This counts as our launch coverage, right?

Given their upcoming non-presence at E3 2023 (since E3 2023 won't exist), Nintendo of America apparently still wants their Treehouse division to be streaming gameplay footage of their most important game(s) of the year. For 2023, that's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

It's unclear what I'll be doing during E3 2023 week, but since I was prepared to watch streams of Nintendo Treehouse: Live during then, I might as well as prepared to do that a month sooner than expected with this stream. And, hey, MAYBE it'll get me to change my mind and want to buy The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! ...I doubt it. But I'll give it a chance. The rest of this article will be my live (textual) reactions to Treehouse's stream, with occasional screenshots.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Direct MAR10 2023 Trailer | Live Reaction Log

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Embarrassing.

I hate MAR10 Day the most out of all of the character-based days in March. Mario is awful and no one should like him. Getting that point across is the whole purpose of this website. I hope we're doing a good job at that. ...Please say we are.

On March 9 (notably March 10 in Japan), Nintendo held this Nintendo Direct:

A Direct that's not even seven minutes long doesn't really warrant a Reaction Log. But I don't think Mario Day deserves much effort from KoopaTV, given our natural opposition towards the subject.

It is worth noting that Nintendo has put some first-party games featuring Mario (and Yoshi and Donkey Kong) on sale for about $20 off. I'm not into that sort of thing. There is a way more important sale going on now that I'll write about in more detail next week.

CAPCOM Spotlight March 9 2023 Live Reaction!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Buy Ghost Trick.

Many videogame companies had presentations today, but for today's KoopaTV article, we'll be live-reacting to CAPCOM's presentation, the Capcom Spotlight of March 9, 2023. You can watch the presentation yourself here... I can't embed it here due to the presentation settings blocking that.

Before the Spotlight started, CAPCOM promised discussions on Resident Evil 4, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (a must-buy, and the existence of its port was revealed last month), and Exoprimal. I can tell you that the Spotlight did end up including more than those games!

[5:27 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.twitch.tv/capcomusa
[5:27 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Before the spotlight, CAPCOM Spotlight begins, it's a bunch of CAPCOM Creators influencers (so they're presumably all streamers) talking over a bunch of old trailers.
[5:28 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I hope they go away when it actually starts, because we need ME writing over a bunch of NEW trailers.
[5:30 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Or maybe they were CAPCOM employees the whole time because they said "our games".
[5:30 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: First game to be discussed is Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam next month.
[5:31 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Masakazu Eguchi AKA Mr. Famous, the collection's director, wants to share news.

KoopaTV's Live Reaction to the Pokémon Presents February 2023

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Snoozefest, but at least it's intentional this time.

Today is Pokémon Day, which means The Pokémon Company International is going to vomit at us whatever information they've been saving for anniversary's sake. These presentations have historically been dull for me. Maybe I'm a bad Pokémon fan (other Pokémon fans say I am) because I don't appreciate several minutes worth of useless cross-company collaborations and predatory mobile titles? Either way, you can watch the short, 26-minute presentation and read along with my live reactions. (Which will take significantly less than 26 minutes to get through, though if you care about things I don't, you'll find a lot of information missing.)

[8:37 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qyfyd_t9mzs
[9:00 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Starting with the GENERIC YOUTUBE PREMIERE COUNTDOWN ANIMATION.
[9:01 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Hello everyone, I'm Ishihara from the Pokémon Company, and today is Pokémon Day.
[9:02 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: The number of Pokémon have gone from 151 to OVER NIN-... ONE THOUSAAAAAAND!
[9:02 AM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Ishihara has a freaky looking Pikachu automaton next to him.

PlayStation State of Play February 23 2023 Live Reaction

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Did the industry villains have anything to impress me?

Yesterday, I portrayed Sony as the videogame industry's group of villains, opposing the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard King and lobbying worldwide business regulators with misleading information. And today, Sony had a State of Play that promised over fifteen minutes of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Rocksteady Studios, five PlayStation VR2 games coming up, and “new looks at some anticipated games from our third-party partners[.]”

There's some potential in that. And because KoopaTV just live-reacted to Microsoft's Xbox Developer_Direct and the Nintendo Direct all within the past 30 days, I ought to ensure that this site is FAIR AND BALANCED by also covering Sony's direct-to-the-public presentation of game trailers and narration. It's just me live-reacting to this, so watch to the video (...if you want) and read along with my time-stamped reactions. It's... a slow start, especially considering the subject matter of the first several minutes are mediocre-looking PlayStation VR2 games.

[3:56 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us81cwC69fA
[4:03 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: So the February 23, 2023 State of Play focuses on "PlayStation VR2", which I don't care about and if anything, actively would feel sick from and not appreciate.
[4:03 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I'll try to pay attention though...

KoopaTV's LIVE Reactions to the February 8 2023 Nintendo Direct

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Well, this is great! I thought so, anyway.

Today, we watched a Nintendo Direct featuring information mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching in the first half of 2023.

Joining me for live reactions are Heavy Lobster, Witch Princess, and Kamek Koopa. Read our reactions along with watching the Direct if you haven't watched it yet! (Time stamps help you follow along.)

[4:52 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMdUSVSEp7U
[4:53 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: brb bathroom
[4:56 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: back
[4:57 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: My expected wants include Splatoon 3 update(s) and Advance Wars's new release date. My unexpected wants include anything about Ring Fit Adventure (sequel, DLC, free update) and that Nintendo will in fact be at E3 2023.
[4:58 PM] HeavyLobster: I'm here.
[4:58 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Howdy.
[4:59 PM] Witch Princess: Hey
[4:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Hey! It's 17:00 in about 15 seconds.
[5:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: ...
[5:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Well I counted to fifteen
[5:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: AHH
[5:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: RP - M rating.

KoopaTV Live Reactions: SOTU 2023 + Sarah Huckabee Sanders's Response

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - THE STATE OF THE UNION is allegedly STRONG!

In what is an unfortunate tradition, whenever the White House of the United States of America takes over all of the television airwaves to get people to watch the annual State of the Union, that somehow takes over KoopaTV as well. There's some cool videogame news that came out today regarding financial disclosures, but that's been bumped by President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. talking to both parts of Congress (and the Supreme Court is invited too for some reason) for over an hour about what he wants to have happen in the United States of America, as well as what has already happened.

...Pretty much everyone else on the KoopaTV staff already fell asleep anticipating Sleepy Joe before he actually began talking. True story. That was the excuse I got from Kamek and Witch Princess, at least. So you just get my FAIR AND BALANCED commentary on not only the State of the Union 2023, but ALSO on the Republican Response featuring new Arkansas governor (and former White House press secretary) Sarah Huckabee Sanders, daughter of former presidential candidate and Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. You can scroll down to the article's bottom where her picture is if you want to read my thoughts on what she had to say, but there's basically nothing of substance to check out. (And that's her fault, not mine.)

[8:57 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzcBTUvVp7M
[9:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I wish comments and chat weren't disabled. Oh well, people can read my thoughts throughout this log.
[9:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Starting with the fact that they're late. C'mon, man.
[9:02 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Oh, yay. Starting. And most importantly, with sign language girl.
[9:04 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: And by "starting" I mean video feed of the chamber without the President there.
[9:04 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Sign language girl is still trapped in a room.
[9:05 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Meanwhile, President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. has gotten out of his (bed)room to walk down the hall to give his speech and ruin our evening.
[9:06 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Sign language girl is signing applauses.
[9:06 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: But she's not clapping, she's more waving her hands around.
[9:07 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Being an American Sign Language interpreter must mean your hands are the most important part of you; so maybe she doesn't want to damage them by banging them together, which is what clapping really is. Perhaps those in this chamber will figure out the same lesson and we won't be here all night listening to half of the hall clapping after every sentence the President makes.

Xbox Developer_Direct January 25, 2023 Live Reaction

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Let's react about the games, not the (borrowed but effective) format.

From what I've been reading, not many people knew that Microsoft had an Xbox “Developer_Direct” (the underscore is canon and it bothers me) today, which is a brand new format of showcasing upcoming videogames. Unlike, say, their direct competitor that they directly copied this Direct format from, Microsoft actually announced this event two WEEKS in advance, as opposed to something like two days in advance. (And I appreciate that more than what their competitor does because this let me plan to have free, uninterrupted time at the timeslot it premiered. ...Even if I was hungry.)

They're excited for their 2023 and want everyone to know about it. Good for them. But will I be interested in what they have to say? Join me in my live reaction log of the five games they have to show. I have commentary and a screenshot for all five!

[3:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-Et8r1413Y
[3:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: XBOX DEVELOPER_DIRECT
[3:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: And I'm just now realising this has the same countdown sequence as those Pokémon Presents YouTube livestreams.
[3:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Therefore, I conclude these countdown sequences are created by YouTube, not by the brand.
[3:02 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: The YouTube-developed countdown has now transitioned to an Xbox-developed one-minute countdown.
[3:04 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: The actual thing has a bunch of people.
[3:04 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: "5 Big Games"
[3:04 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Starting with Mojang Studios.

KoopaTV's Live Reactions to The Game Awards 2022

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - With a Bill Clinton cameo, was this as bad as we expected it to be?

If it won't be obvious enough from the reaction log, I hate The Game Awards and I have a very low opinion of Geoff Keighley. I don't subscribe to the idea that The Game Awards ought to be considered the canon, official ceremony for what is definitively the best game of the year. Still, KoopaTV does a masochistic thing every year and watches The Game Awards anyway. Well, this year it's just me. I'm the only actual masochist on the staff. Everyone else is normally adjusted. Let's get right into things.

The Game Awards 2022 ESRB The following program may contain content that some viewers find offensive. Viewer Discretion is advised.
You can read this reaction log in a small fraction of the time versus watching the three and a half hours of The Game Awards.

[7:18 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vl9yakt_5tc
[7:20 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I don't wanna do this... I could use the time to do something fun. Like play Triangle Strategy.
[7:21 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: That said, people do actually read these.
[7:22 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Like, for The Game Awards specifically. Must mean that people value me watching the event for them so they don't have to. My suffering absolves those of others.
[7:22 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: This must be how Jesus felt.
[7:22 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: (...Or so the legends say.)

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Direct November 2022 Trailer | KoopaTV's Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - I'd classify this as yikes.

For whatever reason, people are super-hyped about The Super Mario Bros. Movie, so it's a major event when Nintendo is showing the second-ever trailer of it (embedded below). For the record, I wasn't a big fan of the first-ever trailer.

Join myself, Kamek, and Witch Princess as we share our reactions to this very quick trailer and opening and ending scenes featuring the ever-deranged Shigeru Miyamoto. It's also important to watch this in the context of Shigeru Miyamoto's stated goal of The Super Mario Bros. Movie brainwashing the general population in order to enhance Nintendo's power.

PlayStation State of Play September 13 2022 Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Kazuya Mishima Wins.

Want to watch about 20 minutes of Sony providing updates on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation VR2? Well, they live-streamed that yesterday. Notably, unlike the same-day Nintendo Direct, Sony did not delay anything because of the Queen of the United Kingdom dying.

I DID react to this live as it was being streamed. I just didn't publish it right away. Sorry for the wait. ...Though I don't think there's anything too exciting that you'd really need my thoughts immediately for. But maybe that's something for you to decide for yourself rather than me tell you. I'm the only staffer in this log, by the way. At least that keeps it shorter.

KoopaTV's Live Reaction to the September 13 2022 Nintendo Direct

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Live in the sense that the reactions aren't edited and were a stream.

Once upon a time—on Monday, September 12—Nintendo announced that there would be a Nintendo Direct the next day in 24 hours. That was an obnoxiously inconvenient timing and we all had things locked into our schedules a long time ago. They really should announce these in advance.

Instead, I—by myself—reacted to the Nintendo Direct as early as I could, since it's dangerous to venture to the Internet without watching it first. 'cause that's all anyone's going to talk about, and spoilers (and leakers!) are bad for society and must be cautiously avoided. So if you're on KoopaTV, you either feel the same way and have already watched this embedded Nintendo Direct and want to know how I thought of it (very touching of you, thank you for your interest), or you just don't care the same way I do:

I must note that in the United Kingdom, “[a]s a mark of respect during this period of national mourning” (this refers to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II), Nintendo in the United Kingdom published the video on their social channels one hour after the rest of the world. It's unclear what makes this one hour extra wait period especially respectful, but as a result, British people just went and watched the American stream and no one's really looking at Nintendo UK's. To help their view count, I've embedded the UK video above despite actually reacting to America's version. (It actually has chapters and omits a half hour of nothing going on.) I'm quite sure they're the same content.

[12:57 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ9Iz7HhU-I
[12:57 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: I'm not sure when this transitions from the "tune in for" message to the--... okay, at 29:37.
[12:58 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: RP-M.
[12:58 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: I'll wait for the clock to get to an even number and then I can pretend I watched this from a goofy timezone.
[12:58 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: I'm not allowed on the Internet until I watch this Direct.
[1:00 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: Starting...
[1:00 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: Four realms with a holy land at the centre?
[1:00 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: With a fell dragon.
[1:00 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: ...Fire Emblem?
[1:00 PM]Ludwig Von Koopa: ...yes, it is.

Ludwig's Delayed but Unspoiled Reaction to the Splatoon 3 Direct

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - This is all pretty exciting!

Hey y'all, I'm back. And while I was on my previously announced vacation last week, Nintendo went and had a Splatoon 3 Direct that clocked in at over half an hour long! I knew there was a Direct while I was away, but I didn't watch it or interact with much of Internet society on my vacation—so I didn't know what was actually talked about. ...But I figured that if I wanted to re-integrate myself with Nintendo-based civilisation, I definitely needed to watch the Splatoon 3 Direct first. And so here it is, and you can follow along with my “live” reactions (from Sunday). Remember: Splatoon 3 is releasing this summer on September 9:

[3:59 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: Okay, I'm... late on this, but I really gotta watch it to reintegrate myself with society.

[4:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I had a dream that there were three-way Splatfests announced for the first week of the game's launch, and it was, like, Giraffes vs. Hippopotamuses vs. Dogs or something.
[4:00 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: And they had Addition vs. Multiplication vs. DIVISION as a sample Splatfest in the video and I wished that was a real Splatfest.
[4:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: No offence to giraffe fans.
[4:01 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: I'm just now realising that's the cast of Lord Winklebottom Investigates.
[4:02 PM] Ludwig Von Koopa: As for actual content in this game, they're showing 4v4 Turf War in Splatsville. I mean, that's not new.
