KoopaTV's Wants and Expectations at E3 2014

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - From our staff.

E3 week is about to happen. So... what do we expect to happen? And what do we want to happen? (Those are two very different things!) KoopaTV's staff weighs in.

E3 2014 Wants:
RawkHawk2010: Mother representation in Smash 4. Mother is the most important franchise in Smash, honestly. It's the ONLY time we'll see it represented. Mother has no presence even in cameo form! I also want King K. Rool announced as a playable character, and Star Fox Adventures representation. That's all I care about. Hearing some Pokémon Mystery Dungeon music would be gravy. Oh, and I want someone to trip on the stage. Doesn't matter who.

Ludwig Von Koopa: All I want is Electronic Arts to give new information on the "Madden Curse" movie! They've been stonewalling KoopaTV for over a year now, since before E3 2013! Oh, and I also want Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney and Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations 2 to come to North America. I want The Division to come to Wii U too. And be the educational MMO I want it to be. Oh, and I want Smash 4 to come with the GameCube controller adapter. Since Ike is in Smash 4, I would love Intelligent Systems to finish the Tellius saga with a Wii U Fire Emblem game. One last thing: Peter Ong's return.

YoshiRider123: Super Smash Bros. 4. Nothing else.

Kamek: Not much. Majora's Mask 3DS would be nice. More Super Smash Bros. 4 characters, naturally. Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem information. Some kind of Metroid, too. And an F-Zero. On the Wii U, at 1080p HD. I'm actually considering getting a Vita, so I want Sony to come up with good ties between the PlayStation 4 and the Vita. Integration between the two is great now but I want to see them take it to a whole other level. I want Microsoft to do something freaking useful with SmartGlass!

Expectations coming up. If you're on the home page, be sure to continue reading. (If you're not, this sentence looks weird and out-of-place.)

E3 2014 Expectations:

RawkHawk2010: Mother, maybe, for Smash. And an announcement about near-field communication figurines. I expect Zelda U to be announced, too. And more Hyrule Warriors, as if anyone cares about that. A new Mario too. Holy fuck. Are there any Mario games announced?! I'm looking forward to Microsoft's, since it's confirmed to be terrible. They went ahead and saved us Rare fans the trouble of getting excited, so now we can just focus on what goes wrong. Also, I feel bad for being happy for Sony last year.

Ludwig Von Koopa: I expect the Super Smash Bros. 4 invitational tournament there to be amazing. All I really care about this E3 is that game. I expect Nintendo to announce a lot of stuff, and I expect that I won't care about any of it, really. ...Which is a really bad expectation. Not that their announcements will be bad, but I'm content with my Wii U being a Smash 4 machine for the rest of its life. I also expect EA to do the same thing they did last year. My article before E3 2013 about EA still applies now. I expect Ubisoft to plug WATCH_DOGS and I also expect another Nintendo cameo in their conference. I don't give a damn about Microsoft or Sony, but I expect the former to back up their "commitment" to the Kinect with words and no actions.

YoshiRider123: Super Smash Bros. 4. Nothing else.

Kamek: Some sort of last minute Super Smash Bros. info. Another Mario game. A Wii U accessory. And a line up of nfc toys. Also something that stresses connectivity among Nintendo's gamer community. Probably details on Hyrule Warriors as well. And a new Kirby game, that too. I think Microsoft will go back to their cloud-based identification system, and I think they won't abandon the Kinect. Sony is hard to gauge since they're in the lead right now. They will probably have a showstopper to solidify their dominance, something about their Gaikai Cloud. Everything seems out in the open for them. Maybe something to get people to buy the Vita? I expect Microsoft to be at Sony's throat because they're getting pretty desperate. I think Sony and Microsoft will be exchanging jabs and one-liners at one another. If Microsoft was smart they'd try to do something extraordinary to make people buy the Kinect again. Especially since the fragmentation.

Whether or not any of these are covered at all will be seen soon. Stay tuned to KoopaTV for our live reactions to every E3 event, and firsthand impressions from the Best Buy Smash Fest! Kamek had even more to say, but he decided to play Mario Kart 8 instead of complete his thoughts. That's okay.
