By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - A Koopa Kwooranteen.
KoopaTV just had our quarterly meeting for all our staff members in our office in Sierra Leone. We have some exciting things to share with you in the upcoming months.
Now, let me explain the Sierra Leone office. You're not going to find the address for that in our Contact page because we don't operate out of there all the time. But if you're curious, it's in Freetown right next to a prison. (Not saying which one!) It's one of the only places on the planet we can afford to rent out with our advertising revenue. KoopaTV's staff talks to one another all the time over the Internet, but there is a certain element to collaboration that you can only achieve from physically being in the same room as one another. If you're ever an employer or you work for one, you can understand or should ask about your job's policy on working remotely from the office. There is a balancing act between that synergistic element you get when being in the same room and granting freedom to your employees!
Of course, having an office in Sierra Leone isn't convenient for anyone, but hey, I DO have experience in Africa.
Unfortunately, the Centers for Disease Control currently says Sierra Leone is an Ebola-prone area, and all travelers coming out of there must enter a 21-day quarantine. We don't have Ebola! At least, I don't think we do! None of us are showing symptoms! I mean, Kamek was coughing a bit, but he had a cold before even coming to Africa! Rawk was totally fine, although he did spend a lot of time in the bathroom. And I vomited a few times, but I always do that on airplanes!

We can talk about the symbolism here another time. |
So we're going to quarantine now. You're not going to hear that on the nightly news. Let me tell you, it's going to be hard to update KoopaTV from quarantine. Especially after they read yesterday's article about me sweating on computer keyboards. Sweat is a bodily fluid! The computer would carry Ebola! No computers allowed! Or else even you, dear reader, could be infected! Even so, we're going to join nurse Kaci Hickox's lawsuit and try to get out of this quarantine. Our convenience trumps your safety! We have business to conduct! And while Rawk and I don't go outside much, Kamek DOES. He can teleport to your location and give you Ebola! ...If he had it. Which we maintain we do not!
That said, if we are quarantined for 21 days, at least Super Smash Bros. For Wii U comes out when we do!
You'll have to wait over the weekend to see if KoopaTV must take a hiatus or not. KoopaTV will not respond to your comments over this time period because its staff will be busy dealing with the CDC. KoopaTV apologizes for the inconvenience, but any comments you do leave will be responded to eventually!
A KoopaTV hiatus is not unprecedented. KoopaTV had one the whole February of 2014.
Koopas getting Ebola also is not unprecedented. See King Bowser's experience with it here!
So does KoopaTV have to shut down? Read the conclusion here.
Sierra Leone later has to deal with natural disasters instead of biological ones.
The whole Ebola thing doesn't make Sierra Leone a bad place. Lots of countries get diseases!
Best of luck!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. We're cleared to not be in quarantine now.
DeleteBut hey, Smah Bros will be out when you're done in quarantine! Good luck :D
ReplyDeleteThat's like saying "Hey, you got arrested and are going to prison, but Nintendo's next console will be out when you're done in prison! Good luck!"
