KoopaTV's 2015 GOTY Nominations!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - And other categories.

These were decided and talked about in our [Koopa Keep] AOL Instant Messenger Blast. Behold!

The déjà vu from years past is intentional. (To be eligible, those running have to start their existence in America from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015.)

And just so you remember, that stands for "Game of THAT Year". That's the KoopaTV touch.

There is no “Worst KoopaTV Comment” of 2015 because, uh, y'all were actually good this year. I think the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program got most people to want to comment non-anonymously, which resulted in people not commenting total trash because they would be putting their name to it. OR after being around for so long, everyone who hates us has us blocked already. We may be one of the most blocked websites on the Internet, then!

But yeah, this isn't just about gaming, but also ourselves. 'cause we're art to be recognised and applauded, too.

    1. They got snubbed.

...Screw Ultra Smash that game is just bad.

    2. Ikr? The game _looks_ amazing but has like 1/5 of the content its predecessors had....

      Didja read that?

    4. So... yeah that's the reason it got snubbed.

As in, the article being written is the reason.

Code Name S.T.E.A.M. got snubbed for a similar event.

    5. Its sad how many games could have had tons of potention but cone out glitchy, unfinished or rushed (for sonic 06 all 3 apply lol)

    6. We'll probably take on a story of that tone in the near future, so stay tuned. :O

      (as a filler but whatever)

    7. Cool! (And I meant potential and not potention)

  2. How did Sans get nominated over Papyrus??? :P

    1. Want me to put both and split the vote?!

    2. No... But Papyrus is my favorite!

      #1 Papyrus
      #2 Mettaton

...Sans is great, but he's way down the list somewhere. Add in Undyne and some spoiler characters in between, and we reach Sans on my list. :P

    3. Well the majority of the Undertale memes and fanart out there is of Sans, so go fight that fanbase.

      Delete
    4. Really, not Mettaton? Must be the people I follow...

That was a very widely-spread tumblr image during the GameFAQs BGE finals.

When Miiverse has tumblr-related garbage it's all Sans and it's usually relating to having a bad time.

I see more attempts at Sans Miis than other Undertale characters.

    6. Huh.

I have nothing AGAINST Sans, he was a fine character. Papyrus and Mettaton just made me laugh so much, I'd consider them worthy of being nominated over him. (And maybe Flowey/[SPOILER])

    7. ...Your Spoiler notification doesn't help anyone.

      Delete
    8. Well, I assumed if you've lookd up Undertale spoilers, you'd know what I meant. And if you haven't, then it's something you shouldn't know.

  3. Good luck for The nominations
My favourite humourous post is the post of The cow haters xD We ♥ the cows T-T
I need to see The winners :D ~

  4. Hey, you actually did nominate the localization article after all! So many GamerGaters and SJWs need to read this to open their eyes on this "censorship" issue (or they'll probably shit all over you).

    1. I said I would nominate it and therefore I kept my word. :)

Will it win? I dunno yet we haven't figured it out. Depends on our mood. :O

  5. On Twitter, you asked what is the best KoopaTV article of THAT year, but that's not really a balanced question. It's like comparing Splatoon to Xenoblade Chronicles X and Super Mario Maker. Each game has their unique values, and feeds to different audiences (competitive, curiousity, creativity). A similar thing is present with the articles. We have Iwata and accepting his death (news to reflect on), we have the comparisons between localisation and censorship (information on myths), and we have Shigeru Miyamoto saying he is the mother of Bowser Jr. (seriously cruel humor). Despite that, we're still talking about the best of the best, and you're not the only one that does this. Although, I'd suggest for YOU to decide KoopaTV's best article of THAT year.

But if I had to decide, of the three articles, I'd pick "May Iwata Directly Rise to Heaven", since it shows how Nintendo hid the truth while simultaneously sharing how much of an impact he has made to gamers. "Localisation Is Not Censorship" is a good second place. Heck, even Lin's voice actress agrees with it!

Finally, why is "Minecraft" nominated for "Best Wii U Game"? Is there really so little competition in the Wii U's 2015 lineup that you had to get a game that already came out three years ago on the Xbox?

    1. It's not a balanced question, which makes it a really difficult one to answer. That's why I sent that tweet out, to outsource my difficult decision-making. ...<_<

Minecraft got nominated because I'm an asshole. (And the answer is yes.) ...Also Kamek actually bought it, turns out.
