Dragon Ball FighterZ Is Out... But Not On Switch (YET!)

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Since we joined the Dragon Ball FighterZ for Switch movement, the game has released, but no Switch announcement has been made.

The Dragon Ball franchise's latest production has been released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 — Dragon Ball FighterZ. High-production anime-style animation and graphics with fast-paced combo-heavy carnage is what people think of when they watch and play Dragon Ball FighterZ, but why isn't Dragon Ball FighterZ on the Nintendo Switch, like we've been calling for?

I mean, it's on the PC, but no one should be playing fighting games on a mouse and keyboard. Bad experience. Meanwhile, the Switch lets you play this on the go. A good feature to complement what is the most critically-acclaimed Dragon Ball game. Ever.

Part of the problem is that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 came out on the Nintendo Switch recently, and a while ago on the other systems. I don't know anything about Xenoverse 2 other than that it was unnecessary, but Bandai Namco decided to use it as a barometre for if they should bring Dragon Ball FighterZ to the Nintendo Switch. If they released FighterZ now, no one would've bought Xenoverse 2. Cannibalisation and all that.

Well...

...A lot of people bought Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Over 500,000. The fan demand for Dragon Ball FighterZ on the Switch has been high. We'll keep clamouring for it on KoopaTV. There are no major technical difficulties with getting the game on the Switch.

As far as I'm concerned, there are no reasons remaining that will be preventing Dragon Ball FighterZ from coming over to the Nintendo Switch, and plenty of compelling reasons for it to come over.

Most compelling reason of them all:

Dragon Ball FighterZ Android 21 base form red neon blue dress Nintendo Switch Joy-Con
Android 21 is pretty much wearing a Joy-Con-themed outfit, and she was conceived just for Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch!

This is Ludwig's first Dragon Ball article, since these are usually by Rawk and Ludwig lacks domain expertise on Dragon Ball, explaining this article's short length. Rawk requested that Ludwig not mention Dragon Ball FighterZ around him, because he is emotionally torn that it is out but not on the Nintendo Switch. Incidentally, Rawk's anti-port attitude does not apply to ports of games from other, non-Nintendo consoles to Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately, Turtle didn't end up becoming a playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Now it's on Nintendo Switch! So far, as an open beta. And it's rather miserable.

  1. Stop bashing on PC lol. Controllers are an option too.

    1. Better optimization, better graphics, the ability to use a keyboard and mouse. Consoles can't do as much as a PC.

    2. Better optimisation? By definition, games on consoles are better-optimised than PC games because you only have to worry about one set of hardware configurations!

Keyboard + mouse is inferior for games like Dragon Ball FighterZ.

    3. Juet get a great pc and not worry about specs for a while.
Atleast you have /options/ on PC.

    4. Playing DBFZ on PC isn't an optimised experience no matter your PC's build.
That's one reason it should come to Switch.

    5. It's clearly more optimized than the switch version.

    6. ...Well, yeah, the Switch version doesn't exist.

    7. It says that we need to rally Bandai Namco to get it there. Hence this article.

  2. I have never watch DBZ nor played any of its games, but the more third party support the Switch receives the better. A large library of games is always crucial to how well the system sells.

    1. The Switch is selling very well and quickly without a huge library yet, though that's on the promise that the future library will be huge!

(I'm with you on DBZ, by the way.)
