Splatoon 2 Splatfest Encore: Chicken vs. Egg

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Chicken.

Got little to do on Friday, August 21 to Sunday, August 23 in 2020? Well, assuming you're caught up on your KoopaTV article reading by then, you can play a Splatfest on Splatoon 2. Here's the theme:

Splatoon 2 encore Splatfest repeat Chicken Egg came first philisolophical
Look familiar?

Yes, this is a repeat Splatfest from March 2018, where I made a clear argument for why I'm on Team Chicken over Team Egg. Read that article for actual “PHILISOLOPHICAL” content. I haven't changed my mind at all. Plus, Team Chicken actually ended up winning.

There will be two additional “bonus Splatfests” (reruns) between September and the end of March 2021. These are worrisome, according to the locals, since it's totally redoing Inkopolis law and customs and even reality.

Additionally, today, Nintendo just announced another collaboration with Battlefy, bringing the Splatoon 2 North America Open September 2020, happening September 6. This comes right after the Splatoon 2 Turf War July 2020 and the Splatoon 2 North America Online Open June 2020. (Despite the lack of the word “online” in September's and July's, they're all online.)

If you and three to four other people form a team and are the best Splatoon 2 team in the tournament, you each get digital download codes for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Tennis Aces, and ARMS. If you already have those games, you can still give away the codes to other people, perhaps even for a kickback. You'll play in a single elimination bracket of best-of-five matches, consisting of random Ranked Battle modes.

I bring this up not because I plan to compete in the Splatoon 2 North America Open September 2020 (I lack a team... and skills), but I just wanna mention that Splatoon 2 has had or will have three tournaments ever since the last time there was one for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Ludwig will be playing the Splatfest sometime that weekend as a Team Chicken member. Shout-outs to fellow Splatoon 2 player ShinyGirafarig, who very recently hatched a new baby from an egg. (Girafarig obviously came first.)

Team Chicken won the encore Splatfest, maintaining Splatfest law.
The next encore Splatfest is Trick vs. Treat, for Splatoween!

  1. Thank you for the shout-out. There actually might be a slight small chance I can participate in the Splatfest depending on BABY 2's nap schedule.

It's important to make sure newly-hatched BABIES know Rest early-on!

    2. Well I decided to stay up all night to let my husband rest because THE BABY 2 only wants to sleep on the swing so I grinded up until Queen in the same room as she was. Even with sleep deprivation I somehow played well enough with an occasional mistake like rushing on with a Jr. because I got bored of the stalemate in a match.

Also last match got a dumb squidbagger Splatling who decided to squidbag the whole duration of me respawning instead of doing it for like 2 seconds. At the end we won because they missed inking on untouched areas. Hope it was worth it.

    3. Excellent job!

Yeah, there's probably a direct correlation between time spent squidbagging, and incompleteness of ink coverage...!

  2. Congrats to Team Chicken on the repeat!
