By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The October newsletter isn't one to fear!
Welcome to the latest edition of KoopaTV's newsletter! October 2019 sure feels like it went by quickly, yet it feels like I haven't written a newsletter in a while. (But I did, and you'll see it in the related articles at the bottom below the footer.)
October 2019 continued KoopaTV's string of solid months, though it was the first month in what's felt like a very long time without an Ace Attorney article during the month or an Enlightenment Movement article. Doesn't mean October was uninspired or not focused on developing KoopaTV canon. In fact, it focused plenty on that. Here's some EVIDENCE:
Actually, there's a lot of articles that I thought were even written in October, so maybe it was longer than I thought. That actually makes limiting this to a top five fairly challenging and I had to spend a lot of time coming up with this chronologically-ordered list. Read these articles if you haven't already... and read everything from this month (and on KoopaTV in general) after that. Well, finish the rest of this newsletter first, because there's some stuff you'll be happy to see announced:
I got the feeling that there was a purposeful effort to not comment this month, because there was a disappointing lack of comments in October. The best comments were my own, and that's not how this is supposed to work since this section is supposed to be showcasing YOU, not me.
Here's some best comments in chronological order:
Round 28's prize was for a one-year membership to the KoopaTV Family Group for Nintendo Switch Online. One can either join this family group by becoming a KoopaTV staff member (see here for more information on getting hired), or by winning this offered-once-a-year prize. If you got first place, you get the prize:
If you're familiar with the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program and you're familiar with the rounds that occur during November–December, then this won't surprise you at all. It's a holiday-y period, and so there's LOTS of rewards to be had, not just the top one person!
There is an additional $10 Nintendo eShop gift card code prize for the random drawing component! This could go to one of the three winners, or to someone completely different who might've only commented once. Exciting stuff.
So participate, and take advantage of all of the point opportunities available to you. For example, there was a new point-getting method introduced in Round 28 regarding KoopaTV's automated article e-mail subscription service that no one took advantage of. I'm hoping no one finds the instructions to that too difficult. If you have any questions, ask me in a comment.
There were no errors pointed out by KoopaTV commenters in October 2019, and therefore no corrections. Hoorah.
These quick and intrinsically fun ways to get points in the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program are available now! Completing these was a critical step for Kody B. to win Round 28, you know. And you'll have fun with them. I particularly like the quiz this time.
When Ludwig shows people KoopaTV articles, they either say they're an illiterate person under 18 and it's not cool for their generation to read, or they read it and say what a great article that was and what a cool website KoopaTV is. Assuming you're not surrounded by people of the former personality, share KoopaTV to YOUR friends and you'll benefit from being associated with good taste.

KoopaTV's Top Five Experiences of October 2019
Actually, there's a lot of articles that I thought were even written in October, so maybe it was longer than I thought. That actually makes limiting this to a top five fairly challenging and I had to spend a lot of time coming up with this chronologically-ordered list. Read these articles if you haven't already... and read everything from this month (and on KoopaTV in general) after that. Well, finish the rest of this newsletter first, because there's some stuff you'll be happy to see announced:
- A Brave New World in Subnautica — Kamek writes KoopaTV's second review of 2019, and it's about the indie open world experience Subnautica, which it turns out he's quite fond of.
- October 15 2019 Democrat Presidential Primary Debate 4 ANALYSIS! — I usually (purposefully) avoid the politics-focused articles in the newsletters, but I think I did a pretty good job with this one in that it's issues-focused and not candidate-focused. You'll learn a lot about your choices here.
- I'm Extremely Impressed With The Dragon Quest XI S Demo — Dragon Quest XI S is Ludwig's first Dragon Quest game, though for this article, his impressions are just based on the demo. ...Though he did buy the game after writing it! Features cows.
- Yes In My Backyard: Dilapidated Houses in the City Trial — Ludwig tackles the issue of affordable housing while also going into a failed government programme instituted by King Dedede.
- Luigi's Mansion 3 and Halloween 2019 — A wide-ranging article continuing this site's distaste for Halloween, plumbers, and the FAKE NEWS media, but also the taste for delicious candy.
Best Three Comments and One Worst Comment of October 2019
I got the feeling that there was a purposeful effort to not comment this month, because there was a disappointing lack of comments in October. The best comments were my own, and that's not how this is supposed to work since this section is supposed to be showcasing YOU, not me.
Here's some best comments in chronological order:
- “What do you think about us Girafarig then? In an alternative universe we used to be Normal/Dark type and the second head was a full fledged body as well. People question what a chain chomp looking tail has anything to do with Psychic ability. Does the tail having a small brain that has a reactive reflex mean anything Psychic? Am I fake news? Is the Crystal Version description of "When it is in danger, its tail uses some sort of mysterious powers to drive away the enemy" enough to be considered Psychic?” — ShinyGirafarig
- “Dragaux deserves better from Nintendo. I predict that he will become so popular that fans will demand Sakurai to add him into Smash. The dragon representation in the roster is too small while the fat red-hatted plumber representation is too high. I'd play as a bodybuilding dragon any day over a genocidal maniac.” — Kody B.
- “Joseph Welch must be rolling over in his grave knowing that the Red Scare has returned to claim more victims. Russia-gate is today's McCarthyism just with a different name.” — Kody B.
- “that great” — THINH

Announcing Round 29 of the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program
If you're familiar with the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program and you're familiar with the rounds that occur during November–December, then this won't surprise you at all. It's a holiday-y period, and so there's LOTS of rewards to be had, not just the top one person!

- $20 Nintendo eShop gift card code
- $10 Amazon gift code
There is an additional $10 Nintendo eShop gift card code prize for the random drawing component! This could go to one of the three winners, or to someone completely different who might've only commented once. Exciting stuff.

Okay, time to start actually trying in the Loyalty Rewards Program again. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for not trying last round, Lheticus. I'm proud to remain a member of the KoopaTV Nintendo Switch Online family.
DeleteIt must've given you enormous pain to purposefully not participate on KoopaTV...!
DeleteYou know, here's how it would've worked. If you won it, I'd ask you for the e-mail address associated with the Nintendo Account.
You wouldn't have to give your own e-mail address for that! You could give it to anyone.
I needed the break to not have to comment for every little thing last round as much was happening off the internet during that time including going to my in-laws for some of the Jewish High holidays.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to personally justify yourself to me. ♫
DeleteThough your story sounds rough.
