I Want My Miiverse Integration Dammit

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - My undocumented accomplishments are like undocumented workers. They're there, but no one knows about them!

Here's another article of me bitching about getting banned from Miiverse. But don't worry: This one actually has some value to it. Also, apologies for saying "undocumented workers". You know I really mean "illegal immigrants", but parallel phrasing takes precedence over being politically incorrect.

This morning, I beat the final boss of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It was a tough fight. Great music. Awesome ending cutscene. Especially with Dixie Kong doing what she does. I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't gotten to the end (or don't own it yet). There is a Lost World like I said there would be, though! It's not blatantly Yoshi-themed. I didn't outright say it would be though, I just said it would be feasible. I did say 2014 would be the "Year of Yoshi" which hasn't happened yet. It probably won't happen after the disaster Yoshi's New Island turned out to be, so that's an incorrect prediction by me. Sorry. Rarely happens.

Anyway, I wanted to share my accomplishment. But I couldn't because Miiverse banned me! Dammit, Nintendo! Miiverse integration is what separates the Wii U single-player experience from every other home console experience! To remind the audience:

"Miiverse can be accessed at any time from the Wii U GamePad controller's HOME Button Menu—even in the middle of a game—to share your thoughts as they come to you. Miiverse is also accessible from the Wii U Menu when not playing."
I want to SHARE MY THOUGHTS! Pause the game with the HOME button, go to Miiverse,

3:19 AM? PM? Hard to make that out, Nintendo stock photo!

and post in the appropriate community, my activity feed, or in a PM. Many times I have PMed KoopaTV contributor and Hideki Kamiya enthusiast YoshiRider123 while the Rayman Legends Challenge App was still a thing, notifying him that I beat his score and supplying a screenshot to prove it. That screenshot deal is pretty important.

Even on the 3DS, I've gone into Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies and loaded up certain points in the game just to use a certain screenshot as a comment in the Ace Attorney community. Especially if it's an OBJECTION! or something or a particular quote. That's something only possible with Miiverse. It's special. It enhances gameplay and interaction with other people all at the same time, and it also lengthens how much time you spend with a game. It also provides incentives, like the stamps for Super Mario 3D World.

You can use these in your Miiverse posts, you sucky artists.

...Unfortunately, none of this is accessible if you're restricted from interacting with Miiverse. So Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze photos will have to wait!

Speaking of which, there is a new update to Miiverse today. It includes:

" 2. After making a comment to another user’s post, you must now wait about 3 minutes to make another comment. You still can comment to your own posts as frequent as you like."
This is actually terrible. It's meant to prevent spam because some punks flood every post in a community with nonsense in quick succession, but obviously it gets in the way of discussion. From what I've heard (since I can't experience it myself...) if you comment on any post that isn't yours anywhere on Miiverse, you can't make a comment on anyone else's post for three minutes. So not just from the same post, but every post. So have fun having multiple conversations at once! This also makes who the original post creator for things like roleplays and chats very important. Plan your interactions with people in advance. Hopefully plan them not only for timetables, but also not to post anything that breaks the Code of Conduct.

Ludwig's NNID is PrinceOfKoopas, but you can't Follow him. Today, he lost another Follower. If you're one of these unfaithful people who won't stand by Ludwig, he wants to let you know he doesn't like you and never did.

  1. Well, I 200%-ed Tropical Freeze and DID make a Miiverse post about it.
