I'd like to start off by saying that Punch-Out!! week has been a fun experience. Some of you may be wondering why this week happened. Well, it was for this: KoopaTV has just finished developing a Punch-Out!!-styled videogame that's absolutely free. (If it wasn't we'd be sued.) I wrote about the gameplay of Punch-Out!!, the characters of Punch-Out!!, the cultural aspect of Punch-Out!!, and the business side of Punch-Out!!. But to truly appreciate the game, you really need to play Punch-Out!!. So we made a game that you wouldn't have to pay for, if you missed Nintendo's generous 30 cent offer. And even if you didn't and just want some more action... it's here!
Well to be honest this whole week was just to hype up for the game, seeing as how we started the game back in early July. And in case you're wondering, this is not Jessie Go Jr. Two. In fact, we haven't started that at all.
NOTE: Play the game at this url. http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/3f82e873d3eb39929ada574afd57092f We can no longer host it on Scratch due to censorship issues. It'll take... a while to load.
The premise of Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! is that, as a result of the verdict in Florida that George Zimmerman is Not Guilty of Second Degree Murder, America is in chaos. The owner of Kokopelli's Gym, Adam Pollock (who trained Zimmerman with the Zimmerman Program that he advertises to the press about — KoopaTV requested information immediately after the trial ended, and he has still yet to reply) has come to New York to train Little Mac, who fears for his life in the resulting riots.
As a result, Mac goes through five boss fights with the fate of America in his boxing gloves. It's a riveting and humourous tale, if I do say so myself. Below is a spoiler-filled list (for the Terms Index) of all of the many references in Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!. Enjoy. (And highlight.)
Oh, and if there are any bugs... you should go ahead and tell me so I can...fix those up. But as far as I can tell, this is the most advanced Punch-Out!!-esque game on Scratch. If it's not loading for you, go directly here.
If you are under 17, don't worry about it. Y'all play Call of Duty like the dirty sinners you are and you're under 17 anyway.
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! — Music, sprites, concept.
Super Punch-Out!! — There's only one "round", as in, no dialogue intermissions.
Punch-Out!! Wii — Disco Kid's and Mr. Sandman's music.
Conker's Bad Fur Day — Great Mighty Poo music.
Mega Man X — Zimmerman's teleport sprite, lose a life music.
Mega Man 2 — Zimmerman's teleport sound effect.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance — Gurgurant sprite, Mad King Sharpnard portrait, Shadows Materialize music and To Challenge Ashnard music.
Paper Mario — Rachel Jeantel's food-throwing.
Sony PlayStation 3 — The boomerang controller Chad uses.
Fire Emblem 7 — Sharpnard's fire breath is actually a sprite from the Elfire tome.
Jessie Go Jr. Remedial Algebra — Go's sprites and sound effects are in this game, along with Remedial Algebra's storyline being referenced.

What's next for KoopaTV's game development? Perhaps it'll be Jessie Go Jr. Two like it should be. Or maybe we'll create a sequel. Either way, Punch-Out!! week is now complete.
