KoopaTV's July 2016 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The month of conventions.

I'm debating whether or not I should apologise to the readers at home (and abroad!) because of KoopaTV's staff being totally distracted by the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention for the second half of July, and having little to show for it in content.

The last two weeks weren't a total loss, as you'll see in... THE TOP FIVE RECOMMENDED ARTICLES OF JULY 2016! Yippee!

In chronological order, mind you:
  1. Toxic "No Music" Philosophies
  2. Hillary Clinton: The Dark Age of the Law
  3. Famous Dead People Privilege
  4. The Final Splatfest: Callie vs. Marie
  5. Why Koops Is a Loser

Normally I'd say everything on the site is worth reading, but in July there was one article in particular that broke the trend. KoopaTV's staff didn't write it. That's all I'm going to say, 'cause that's enough for you to know what I'm talking about.

...Moving on now.

If you missed the announcement, the prize for Round 9 is one Nintendo eShop $10-value code. For first place only. And... it's a fight to get there. Check these standings out (current as of July 31, 2016):
  1. Kody B. — 44 points
  2. Charssie God — 43 points
  3. ShinyGirafarig — 38 points
  4. Samantha Lienhard — 25 points
  5. Harman Smith — 12 points
Allow me to take the time to point out ways to get a lot of points really quickly. Taking KoopaTV Feedback Form Part V gives you 8 points. Taking KoopaTV Quiz Part V gives you up to 6 points — dependent on your performance. KoopaTV's Feedback Forms and Quizzes are point-able once per round since there's a new Feedback Form and Quiz every new round.

Introduced in July 2016, there is the new Official KoopaTV Logo Use Request form that gets you up to 10 points. This is one-use in your history of KoopaTV. Meaning, if you use it for Round 9, then you can never complete it for another 10 points ever again! Use it wisely. I consider you all gamers, since this is something that requires tactics and strategy as much as loyalty.

Guest posts are also still an amazing way to get a lot of points, and if you have video skills, so is doing a Let's Play of our very exclusive KoopaTV videogames.

Given all of that, plus just making comments every day, even if you're not on that leaderboard now you could be #1 by the end of August. And then you'll be $10 in eShop money richer.

Republished the 2014 Herman Cain Interview

Yup, we did. It's here. Given the same date as before. If you try to go to the old url, I made a custom redirect to get you to the new one. Nifty, huh?

...What, that's standard procedure for websites? Shush. We take pride in being low-tech! (...No we don't.)

It got linked-to by The Verge, which we've since added to our Recommended News Sources list. ...Hey, n-not just because they linked to KoopaTV. We're not THAT willing to sell ourselves out!

(If you forgot why it was deleted to begin with, look here.)

Speaking of interviews, we have plans for more of those showing up soon.

Looking for Marketing and Beta-Testing People

KoopaTV is always looking to hire quality people on our staff. There are many opportunities for marketing that are passing us by because we don't have the time or the skill-set for it. If you do (and you're willing to work for free), it'd be fantastic if we talked about it.

As for beta-testing, that's not for our website. KoopaTV is working on our 2016 videogame to add to our line-up. (I already linked our games earlier in this newsletter!) We'll need multiple testers at every stage of development if we want to make it by our unspecified deadline! (Preferably November and not the last day of December like last time.)

KoopaTV is doing a lot of things recently behind the scenes that you might never even be aware of. Not because KoopaTV isn't being transparent, but because those things don't come to fruition. And you'd be glad that they never did. What SHOULD come to fruition, however, are KoopaTV's loyal fans helping KoopaTV expand by sharing KoopaTV's content to other people!

  1. It seems like it was just yesterday when Hillary Clinton was defeated and the Confederacy was restored to its former glory. I can only imagine what the theme of this next game will be.

    1. (...Hm, I guess it did more-or-less happen that way.)

I feel like I said I'd make Capture the Confederate Flag strategy guide articles in July and haven't.

      Get your imagination going.
