KoopaTV's August 2016 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - A month of variety and amazing content.

I have heard that you younger set of humans are starting school again right about now. Don't let that take over all of your time and your life. We won't at KoopaTV, although none of us will be in any school setting next month. So we should be fine. Just looking out for all of you fans.

We had a great month in August, full of provocative, focused, original gaming content. We'll be broadening a bit of what we cover in the months ahead, given the political landscape of the United States. You'll still get awesome gaming content (such as tomorrow's reaction log on the Nintendo Direct at 10 AM Eastern!), but we also need to let you know how events going on in the world will affect your life. And what the proper courses of action will be to wade through that. Just looking out for all of you fans.

Anyway, let's talk about that content.

Top Five Recommended Articles Of August 2016

All of KoopaTV's articles are worth reading, but here are our staff's top five picks for the MOST recommended from the month, in chronological order:
  1. Pokémon Sun and Moon: Alola Forms, New Pokémon, Trials, Z-Moves, Riding!
  2. Team Koopa Officially Backing Out Of the Rio 2016 Olympics
  3. The Electoral Map of the Splatoon Summer Splatdown!
  4. The Real Explanation of Shinzō Abe and Mario
  5. Paper Mario: Color Splash — Episode 3: Infiltration!

It was yet another set of tough choices. Very strong article mix this month. We even had TWO guest articles and an interview. Plus, two fantastic reaction logs, TWO Enlightenment Movement articles (and these are supposed to be really rare), and we didn't forget the Artistic Corner either. We gave you high-quality variety all month.

KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program Round 9 RESULTS

...And you guys contributed to that variety with your guest-submitted content (which we want more of) and your scrumptious comments.

It was a close fight, but here's what the results were for Round 9 of the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program that went from July 1 to August 30. The winner in first place is receiving a $10 Nintendo eShop gift card code!

  1. ShinyGirafarig — 83 points
  2. Kody B. — 78 points
  3. Charssie God — 53 points
  4. Samantha Lienhard — 50 points
  5. Harman Smith — 21 points
  6. SacredG — 16 points
  7. Mizuki Cruz — 15 points
That brings me to the next bit of news...

KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program Round 10 Announcement

I would like to announce that Round 10 of the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program will begin September 1 at 12 AM Eastern, and end October 30th at 11:59 PM. The prize will be another $10 Nintendo eShop gift card code. It's winner-takes-all.

Republished The Other Deleted KoopaTV Articles

KoopaTV's recent obtainment of over 900 articles published includes previously-removed articles. These not only include those deleted by the then-dastardly Rawk (which might not be worth looking at), but also Part 4 of our strategy guide for our hit game, Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!. I won't link to that because, quite frankly, it was probably deleted because it broke some service violation or something. But it was great content, part of a series, and I dislike having broken links and urls, so it's back.

Renovated the Guest Post Submission Info Page

To accommodate the increasing flow of content that people who are not KoopaTV Staffers are trying to get published on KoopaTV, I renovated the Guest Posts page. I think things are now in an order that people will like, and some things are clarified. If more clarification or explanation is needed, let me know so I may provide it.

Here's the truth: Many people, who are not actual readers of KoopaTV, want to promote their stuff on our pages. Quite frankly, that's fine with us, and we've published that before. What is not fine with us is trying to use KoopaTV as your dumping ground for advertising garbage. We have stringent quality standards. Content must be original! And it must add value and be interesting.

So we reject a lot. And, for some behind-the-scenes information, a lot of the time people tell us things and we reply — with information from our site — and they never reply ever again. What's the point?

If you don't read up on the kind of site KoopaTV is, if you ignore our own guidelines, if you refuse to work WITH us, and if you LIE to us (“Oh, I'm a big fan of your site, KoopaTV! Let me guest post this thing that I've already written that I've tried to send to a dozen other sites!”), we'll probably reject you. There was even one total fool who, after I copy-pasted to her the url of a word-for-word copy of the poorly-written article she was trying to submit to me, was still trying to claim she was following KoopaTV's originality rules. Not good enough. Not even close.

Just looking out for all of you fans.

Part VI of KoopaTV's Feedback Forms and Quizzes

As of publishing, these aren't done yet. (Or started.) Hey, there's no rush. If you want KoopaTV Rewards Program credit, you'll have anytime between September and October to do it.

If you really like filling out forms, there are the previous quizzes and feedback forms you can fill out. Check out all of KoopaTV's Feedback Forms and Quizzes right here.

Update September 4: They're done.

Sharing KoopaTV to friends is GREAT. Do it. It sure helps out our own crappy marketing efforts, which you can change directly by joining KoopaTV as a marketing person.

Next month's September 2016 review newsletter is header-less again.
How about last year's August newsletter? It lacked the headings this one does.
How about next year's August newsletter? It has even more headings.

  1. I saw the whole fiasco with a Guest Post submitter unfold before my very eyes (mainly because I signed up for "Notify Me" notifications).

While I haven't been engaging in the content as I typically would, I still enjoy reading your articles!

    1. Yeah. The one I was referencing in the newsletter was, uh, via e-mail. I'm surprised how much we've been getting, and you can see from the results of what gets published how much of it is crap.

Engage, man! Also, congrats, you got the first point for Round 10 of the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program.

    2. It's not like we chose to give it to you first. You just commented first on September 1.

      Not an honour.

    3. Wow. Quite the anti-achievement!
