Arkham Origins follows Batman (Bruce Wayne) a few years before the Arkham Asylum incident. You play as a slightly inexperienced Batman, and younger, too. Bruce Wayne has gone under the guise of Batman for at least two years prior to Arkham Origins. He just became widely popular after and during the events of Arkham Origins.
The main gist of the game, is that, Roman Sionis, or Black Mask, has hired eight assassins to kill Batman. The bounty on Batman's head is 50 million dollars. With stakes this high, of course, not only will the hired guns try to get in on the cash, but the Gotham City Police Department will also try to get to Batman. There's a whole lot more, but that'd spoil so much can of it, silly!

The game serves as an amazing entryway to the Arkham series, filled
with challenges and stealth scenes to keep you on the edge. Not only
that, but you'll find yourself replaying these stealth scenes to find
new ways of taking down your enemies. Whether it be blowing a wooden
wall in their face, hanging them from a gargoyle, or straight up
smashing them through a glass ceiling, the action and stealth elements
in this game never disappoint!
The free-flow
combat system's controls are so basic, yet so complicated to master hitting with such precision timing. It's always so satisfying to knock
an opponent out with CQC, especially with the gunshot-like sound that
plays after they're knocked out.
The story is
amazingly balanced and beautifully crafted, made to bring you ups and
downs in the story and not know what's coming next. You'll be The
Batman, as the ads for the Arkham games say. Being The Batman feels
fucking amazing.
SuperDeku
is massively obsessed with stealth games as of now. And damn, is it
hard to come by those. Finding a good series is truly a gem for him.
This is none of those gems. He is also waiting for Ludwig to fulfill his request to write about his bondage fetish.
Ludwig DID fulfill that request, right here.
Is "The Batman" related to "The Donald"? Just curious.

so what 9/10
ReplyDeleteSomewhat. Maybe 9.3/10 ;-)
DeleteI've heard mixed things about Arkham Origins, but I'm going to give it a chance... especially since I got Arkham Knight on PC so I'm still waiting for it to be fixed.
ReplyDeleteIt was a spectacular game! Especially if it was your first game in the Arkham series! Though, if you're one for replayability, I wouldn't recommend replaying it, I honestly don't like replaying it as much as Arkham City.
DeleteKnight was great, too. I'll write a review for it here, as well.
^Looking forward to the review.
DeleteSuper late response: it will be my third Arkham game, and I'm not much for replaying games.
