What KoopaTV's Staff Is Thankful For In 2014 *Updated 11/29/2014*

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Thank you for accepting what we give.

Today is Thanksgiving. What does that mean? It means you probably will be spending a lot of time with your family today, doing great American traditions such as eating turkey and mashed potatoes.

(And to you non-Americans, well, I'm sure you can appreciate being thankful. As Herman Cain said, this is like the one American holiday where we're not celebrating something war or death-related.)

It also means we don't expect you to have some heavy reading (just heavy eating) today, so we'll just take this moment to tell you what we're thankful for this year. I'll start.

Ludwig: I'm thankful for plenty this year. First and foremost, I'm thankful for having a wonderful, supportive family. I'm thankful for being able to play as myself and the rest of my family in TWO games this year: Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. 4! (Well, not Bowser Jr. in the first of those.)

I'm also thankful for the wonderful growth that KoopaTV has had this year, and it's all thanks to you guys. We give you a lot of awesome content (for free), and I'm thankin' you for accepting it. So I'm thanking AND giving! We even like the trolls we get sometimes 'cause we think y'all are hysterical.

I'm thankful for Twitter for giving the opportunity to be recognized by TWO celebrities: George Zimmerman (who IS a celebrity — oh, and there is more to that story than just being Followed by him on Twitter, but that's a secret) and Neal Boortz, retired talk show radio host. I know I haven't mentioned Mr. Boortz on this site yet, so I made a video:

That made me REALLY happy, you know. You know what else made me happy? Well, I'm thankful for Amazon for shipping Super Smash Bros. For Wii U much earlier than expected! And to Nintendo and Masahiro Sakurai for making such great games.

I'm also thankful to the American people. Your president may suck, but you voted in a Republican wave on November 4! Hopefully the Republicans can prevent my fear that Obama will attack Koopa Kingdom. Unfortunately, that guy is into unilateral action...

RawkHawk2010: Rawk is thankful for being able to feel emotions this year. This really started last year when Rawk felt depressed over Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze getting delayed to 2014. ...Which, if Ludwig may editorialize, only helped Tropical Freeze. Anyway, that depression actually continued into 2014 along with Tropical Freeze. It got so bad that KoopaTV actually went on vacation hiatus for the entire month of February. Why would Rawk be thankful for all of this?

According to him, being able to feel emotions and not behave like Zimmerman/the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Phantom actually raises his confidence. In Rawk's own words, "I've felt stuff. And it gave me insight. [...] You should try it."

Rawk is also thankful and still amazed at his encounter with Herman Cain himself. Ludwig only got referenced on The Herman Cain Show, and only with Neal Boortz substituting in. Rawk actually got on The Herman Cain Show and asked a question. "Who is your favorite Pokémon?"

Rawk also said he is thankful for humor in general. Well, you can get plenty of that by reading KoopaTV articles!

Update: Rawk is also thankful he got banned off NeoGAF so he could not possibly turn into someone like disgraced KoopaTV staff member YoshiRider123.

Kamek: Kamek says he is thankful for Super Smash Bros. 4. When KoopaTV played Super Smash Bros. Brawl before Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection became discontinued, Kamek was actually out and unable to participate. So Kamek did not play a Super Smash Bros. game with us for a LONG time until Super Smash Bros. For 3DS came out and we all had that amazing weekend.

Speaking of being out, Kamek is thankful for all his travels, being such a worldly guy. (You have to be in order to be a Koopa Kingdom adviser!) Traveling expands your mind, they say. These include his trip to Paris this year (which is why he was out) where he was kidnapped by the Taliban. Of course, they also include the KoopaTV business trip to our Sierra Leone office, where we got suspected of having Ebola. Kamek is also thankful for no longer having to see the CDC about that!

Kamek is abusing KoopaTV's extremely generous vacation and sick time policies. If you would like those as well, check out yesterday's hiring article. He is thankful for those, of course.

So from our family to yours, KoopaTV wishes you a happy Thanksgiving! And if you do have a lot of free time today, feel free to read around the hundreds of articles on the site. And we got a big one coming tomorrow.

Ludwig is also thankful for his Miiverse account for bringing him over 1,000 hours of mixed emotions and the chance to mingle with other Nintendo fans. You can Follow him at NNID PrinceOfKoopas.

For what KoopaTV did last year for Thanksgiving (it's art), look here.
The last time KoopaTV went through its staff and asked for their thoughts, it was before E3 2014 and about our wants and expectations. Read through those here.
Next year's Thanksgiving article is a lot closer to the Canadian one. A prominent retailer won't have stores open!
Ludwig is alone in 2016 saying what KoopaTV is thankful for.
