(Round 1) Ludwig's Best. Game. Ever 2015 Votes

GameFAQs hasn't had a contest battle in the polls since mid-2013, where Ludwig covered his votes in every round. He's going to do the same thing this year.

Two years ago, it was three-way character battles. The villain (Draven, from League of Legends, supported by a Reddit invasion) won. Well, now it's one-on-one videogame vs. videogame. Straight-up. 128 games. The voting starts November 5, 2015, with multiple votes per day. So it should move briskly.

Want to know who I plan to be voting for? Here's the bracket with my votes in bold. Feel free to vote alongside me or vote against me. Lots of discussion points here! Remember, this isn't who I think will win, but who I'll vote for.

    Oblivion over Super Mario RPG? Now there's something I didn't expect. Also lol, "Ratcher and Clank". This is the kind of thing that happens when I'm not around to QA I guess.

      uuhhhh so I actually copy-pasted this list from other people.

      I tried to find errors as I went along and fixed them, notably putting the accent in Pokémon.
      Guess I wasn't in a QA mood for the very first match.

    Oh maaaan, some of my favorites are already being set against each other! XD I'm sorry, Thousand-Year Door, if only they put you up against something else, anything else!

    This list also reminds me of how many great games I still need to play, to make proper comparisons and whanot.

    Binding of Isaac over Witcher 3? Granted, I haven't played either of them, but since I never intend to play Isaac and can't wait to play Witcher 3, that surprised me. XDD

    *looks at previous comment* Wait, wait, wait, Oblivion? I know you don't like Super Mario RPG as much as some people do, but what did it DO to make you prefer an open world western RPG? XDD

      I definitely don't like that the Ace Attorney games are going to get destroyed.

      (I actually wanted to VOTE for Symphony of the Night at least once.)

      Binding of Isaac is closer to the kind of games I like over Witcher 3. *shrug*

      I actually sorta had a limited amount of fun playing Oblivion for an hour or so compared to me slogging through the whole SMRPG. (And I watched someone else play Oblivion in-person for multiple periods of time.)

      SMRPG was featured in my 100th, 101st, and 102nd YouTube videos and I pretty much regret that decision. Not that I'd rather have Oblivion there.

      People damn hyped up SMRPG for years as the best RPG ever and it's totally not. I remember when it came out on Labour Day on Wii's Virtual Console and I spent the whole day playing it. And it fell far short of expectations.

      At least EarthBound has a REASON for being overhyped.

      Shortly before publishing these decisions, I had a conversation with someone who said SMRPG was their first RPG ever and they cherish it, being amazed at the combination of Nintendo and Square. But today, it just doesn't hold up well at all to PM or M&L.

      That said, while writing this response, this got into my head for some reason.

      Can't say I actually like any part of Oblivion more than SMRPG. SMRPG has better characters, music I actually remember (apparently, even if I think the soundtrack is overall lacklustre), and I guess better gameplay.

      I can't really say that other than the very introduction of Oblivion I remember any particular thing that happened in that game. It's all sort of combined into one mush.

      I still think it's a better game than SMRPG though, which is a generic (not even spectacular, like Chrono Trigger) RPG with plumber-boy in it.

      If you don't like any part of Oblivion more than SMRPG, and SMRPG has better characters, music, and gameplay, then how can you say Oblivion is the better game? XD How can Oblivion be better if SMRPG has better everything?

      ...Especially since SMRPG is closer to the types of games you (usually) like than Oblivion is, which is your Binding of Isaac argument.

      (I haven't played SMRPG yet, by the way, so I'll form my own opinions then.)
