Nintendo eShop Black Friday 2022 Deals (featuring Ace Attorney and Danganronpa)

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Sell me on the sale.

Perhaps I should publish this article on Friday, but if videogame companies are going to be putting games on a Black Friday sale starting on a non-Friday day of the week, why should I wait to tell you about that?

Did you know that the Ace Attorney series is on sale, again, on the 3DS and Switch? Well, there are over 2,500 games on sale on the Nintendo eShop right now, of course Ace Attorney will be involved—just like it was on sale last month, too. I'll especially plug the Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection at 41% off (35 USD), which includes five games, including Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (three games) and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (two games).

But right now I'm looking at another trilogy that is on sale on the Switch for the lowest amount they've ever been. And I think they're on sale starting today (and ending on December 4—same end-date for those Ace Attorney games), because someone I know bought one of these yesterday at full price on the Switch:

Danganronpa anniversary series Black Friday Nintendo Switch eShop sales 50% 80% off
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition is 80% off, or only $3.
That's as low as that's going to get, I think!

I'd be interested in hearing about why those Danganronpa games are priced the way they are (so if you know, let me know). I've heard that I'd like the series if I got them—but I never have, and I'm fairly unfamiliar with their plotlines, which should be a plus for me getting them. If you'd like to advocate for that in the comments section, please do. ...And let me know if I should get all of them in the screenshot above, or if I should...refrain from some.

Ah, but please note that they'll take a backseat in my backlog. AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES (also on sale right now for 80% off) is still untouched and has been waiting in line for half a year. (Its sequel, AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative, is also 30% off right now. But I can get that later. You know, after I play the first one.)

If you want first-party Nintendo games, those are on sale, too. Some of them, anyway. Like Kirby Star Allies! ...Don't get tricked into buying a Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit set. Those are evil.

And in other third-party news, games that JUST came out, like FIFA 23 Legacy Edition, are on sale at 50% off—and that pathetic disaster already offers you 50% off for “upgrading” from a previous Legacy Edition. But perhaps even more funny than that pathetic disaster is that Sonic Frontiers, which came out a mere two weeks ago, is already 35% off at physical retailers like Best Buy and GameStop. Talk about losing value...

If Ludwig gets a positive endorsement of Danganronpa in the comments, he'll go bite for it. If it's super-positive, he might buy more than one of them! His own top endorsement will still go to anything with Ace Attorney in the title, of course. He doesn't know what he's going to publish on Black Friday proper on KoopaTV.

Ludwig wrote about Black Friday 2021/Cyber Monday 2021 here.
The next sale (for Ace Attorney) happens a month later for the December holidays.
