I made a guest post a long time ago about how fiction influences and how giraffes are barely represented in media which leads to little exposure and therefore not many know they are now a critically endangered species. 

I find The Adventure Pals very relatable. I also love giraffes.

Well Charlotte Sutherland is working on making a point and click adventure game with the vast majority done on her own and she is planning to release for the Switch alongside PC, Mac and Linex. She is a registered Switch developer so hopefully we can trust that she will put it on Switch if the Kickstarter gets funded.

I backed the Kickstarter as now is my chance to support more giraffes in video games. I missed out on backing The Adventure Pals which also had a giraffe as part of the main cast in it. Kickstarters are always a risk though as can be seen in previous articles but we also had gems such as Shovel Knight and The Adventure Pals was pretty good as well. Ms. Sutherland had previous experience in the video game industry all listed in the campaign page. You can even play a demo to see if the game is to your liking. She also quick to communicate to you in the Discord channel for Lord Winklebottom Investigates which I am a part of and I have the backer role.

Word of mouth is spreading slowly on social media and some review sites including the recommended site Nintendo Life. She still has barriers to face such as not being able to advertise on r/indiegaming on Reddit due to not having an account 30 days or older and by the time her account is that old it will be already too late because there is already less than 20 days left for the Kickstarter to be funded. Which is why I am helping out by spreading the word here. She said she had the core part of the game already self-funded and needs the Kickstarter for other parts that will help bring the game alive such as voice acting, translating the game into other languages so it won't be stuck in one language like MOTHER 3, getting a composer for the music, hiring a programmer to assist her with tasks such as porting to Switch, and getting QA to prevent game breaking bugs. I know the importance of voice acting was talked down here before but she feels that the game will be more dynamic by having the characters voiced. I am sure even Prince Ludwig von Koopa gets a sense of awe hearing a lawyer in the Ace Attorney series yell "Objection" compared to merely just reading it. Having the core part funded herself shows that she does not think voice acting is the most important but more for a flavoring.

Kickstarters are always a risk but I feel it is worth it especially to promote more giraffes in media.
