The Real Meaning of Toon Link in Smash

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Not just the conductor, either.

So we went to something as trivial as a new Pokémon getting revealed for Pokémon X/Y to a SUPER SMASH BROS. 4 character being revealed. And once again, Masahiro Sakurai SMASHES expectations. After all, the conventional wisdom was that thanks to a certain screenshot, Toon Link had no chance.

Doublade ISN'T Just Two Honedge

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - A LITTLE more complicated.

For your information, I didn't make this in Paint. I made it in Scratch's costume editor. Anyway, today The Pokémon Company International announced an evolution to Honedge for Pokémon X/Y: It's Doublade. You know. "Double blade". So... some say it looks like two Honedge. I put this to the test.

Operation: Exploit Monster Hunter As Much As Possible

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It's not like Capcom has anything left.

Hey, guys, let's keep looking at Capcom a little bit more. It's recently been revealed just how desperate Capcom's situation has become: They failed to meet their 2013 sales targets, and they only have $152 million in cash. And thankfully the consensus realizes that that's terrible for a long-standing game company. I kind of expected some socialists to be like "those fatcats have millions just lying around! They're fine!" but I haven't seen any. To put it into perspective, Capcom wouldn't be anywhere near affording Grand Theft Auto V. So with Capcom falling apart, Keiji Inafune should be laughing it up on how Capcom treating him like shit is now resulting in the entire company quickly dying, right?

Yamauchi Is Dead

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - So will you.

To be honest, I didn't want to write an article about the death of former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi. Besides Elizabeth Brett, I don't like this subject. (Not that I liked that EA killed her or anything.) But KoopaTV's other contributors didn't want to either. And someone had to do something. KoopaTV can take after Herman Cain's Best of Cain (formerly CainTV) all we want in selectively ignoring some stories and overemphasizing others to fit our agenda, but since we're obviously supposed to be a Nintendo-focused publication...

(Part 4) Smash 4 Character Roster Analysis!

By ROCKSOAP - Ike, Ness, Lucas, Mr. Game and Watch, Snake, and Sonic!

With each passing day, the next installment in Nintendo’s flagship, colorful, fan-service plagued fighting game franchise approaches. Of course, I’m talking about none other than Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U. Nintendo likes to save this hard ball until it’s really needed, only releasing one game in the series per home console, starting with the Nintendo 64. Smash 4 marks the first time the franchise will have a game on a portable system.

And as with any new Smash Brothers game, all the hype is not centered around how the gameplay will be different, or what new stages or items we’ll see, or even how the game will utilize the Wii U’s GamePad (if it will at all). Instead, the hype is focused solely on the CHARACTERS. Returning characters, newcomers, and possible third party combatants. All the fans are busy compiling their dream roster for the game; whether you’ve noticed or not, you’ve thought about it at least once.

GTA V — A Danger to the Industry

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - How many more As can we add to AAA?

It has been revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has made over $800 million in revenue in 24 hours. Do you know what that means? That means that, at $60 per copy, GTA V has ALREADY sold more than 13.33 million copies. In 24 hours. That's about 154 copies per second over 24 hours. For comparison, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's first-day record back in 2011 was "only" more than 6.5 million copies and over $400 million in revenue. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said,

Wii Fit [Directly To] U!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - "Our bodies are sufficiently ready."

Wii Fit Trainer is certainly making herself feel very welcome among the elite Nintendo cast that will be in Super Smash Bros. 4, starting off a new Wii Fit U-themed direct and taking Satoru Iwata's AND Reggie Fils-Aime's catch-phrases. Notice how the male Wii Fit Trainer is nowhere to be found, too. See the Direct below... if you want. I really don't care about Wii Fit U (I do own Wii Fit though, and have been doing nothing with the Wii Balance Board.), but I DO care about the new business implications revealed (directly) by the... Nintendo Direct.

GTA-Free Is The Way To Be

By RAWKHAWK2010 - (Not to be confused with "GTA: Free", the Zynga spinoff.)

As many of you lads may already know, I'm a drug-and-alcohol-free individual. This means I have no interest in stealing cars, robbing banks, or killing people. This also means I have no interest in playing Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V

GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It's a sweepstakes. Info after the "read more".

Back in the Pokémon Red and Blue days, the slogan for the Pokémon franchise was "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" I believe this was continued with Pokémon Gold and Silver but ended starting with Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire because it wasn't really possible to catch them all when those games first came out. (For example, Tyranitar wasn't available in-game, and backwards compatibility was eliminated.) Good thing we now have Pokémon Bank and all so we'll forever have backwards compatibility.
