GEORGE ZIMMERMAN'S PUNCH-OUT!!??

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! brought to life. Spoiler alert, by the way.

Okay, KoopaTV really did it this time. This isn't a game announcement. This is real life. The last and only time KoopaTV cited anything from TMZ, it was from an article heavily talking about Mike Tyson. TMZ returns again for Punch-Out!! shenanigans.
"Now's your chance to kick George Zimmerman's ass with zero legal repercussions -- he just agreed to a celebrity boxing match ... and he says he'll fight ANYONE. [...]
Lately George has been more interested in boxing than guns ... regularly training in the ring. [...]
As for George's cut from the fight, we're told he's donating the money to charity.
If you'd like to throw your hat in the ring for the March 1 match, email fightgeorge@hotmail.com."
We tried to interview George Zimmerman about his inspiration, but he declined to accept it. Fair enough. However, it's pretty obvious that he must've played Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! and was frustrated that he was only an NPC. Feeling that he would never be able to have the same kind of success Little Mac had in the virtual world (for a comparison of Little Mac and George Zimmerman, click here), Zimmerman decided to do this in real life.

Currently, ex-gang member "The Game" wishes to destroy Zimmerman. While the fact that Zimmerman was inspired by a videogame to do this and then the name of his opponent being "Game" is certainly interesting, KoopaTV wants Zimmerman to fight someone else.

All The Thoughts On Iwata's Briefing

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Condensed because there's a ton to comment on.

So the Nintendo world is super-charged on activity right now because of Satoru Iwata's briefing with investors. I guess KoopaTV has to follow suit. So let's go item-by-item here. Prepare for a lot of quotes.
"If you quote any or all of this presentation, please display the URL of this website or put a link to this website."
Done! Here, I'll do it again: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/140130/index.html

About KoopaTV

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Just in case you were wondering.

For many months now (that's how long KoopaTV has been a thing), we've had an "About" tab that is just the first thing published on the website. But that's about us, the KoopaTV contributors. Not about KoopaTV itself. KoopaTV has a distinct identity that is more than the sum of its contributors. Even more than the sum of guest contributors and commenters (people like YOU! ...And if you've never commented, it's free and optionally anonymous!).

In fact, it's just one expression of what kind of site KoopaTV is that it look us over 8 months to formally make an About page. This is coming even after our very long-awaited Disclaimers page! So what is KoopaTV? What is the style? How do you properly read it? Read more for the answers to those questions!

Speaking of style, the only acceptable syntax for KoopaTV is... KoopaTV. Capitalized that way. No space between "Koopa" and "TV". This is made even more clear in the Password song for Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!.

KoopaTV Live Reactions: SOTU 2014!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - With bonus contrarian responses!

While this isn't directly tied to videogames, it's important that KoopaTV keeps itself up-to-date on what's going on in US politics. After all, we're pretty opinionated, and there is theoretically a chance that any new Obama speech will make a videogame reference. I'm Nintendork 13 13, and the other names are themselves. This is from our [Koopa Keep] AIM Blast! So did we think President Barack Hussein Obama did well? Find out!

Yoshi's New Problems

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Please stop telling Arzest to work on these games.

The last time I really talked about Yoshi's New Island, it was... kind of on a positive note? An article claimed it was like the Super Nintendo classic Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Well, now we know a bit more about the game since July 2013. Watch this sickening trailer.

Choice: Texas — We Make 'Em, They Take 'Em

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It's your choice, but I don't recommend it.

Thanks to our best friends at Best of Cain — formerly known as CainTV — for giving us the heads-up on this story. There was a funding effort at Indiegogo for this scary game idea called Choice: Texas. It made headlines in mostly non-gaming media, but KoopaTV isn't going to shy away from this type of stuff. It's a browser-based text adventure where you abort people.

Candy™ Crush Saga™

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - You silly mobile gamers.

KoopaTV has made clear its disdain for mobile gaming already. I believe we implied all mobile game players are perverts in that article... or something. Anyway, this article is about King, the... king of the mobile gaming sector. So if Gameloft is lord of the perverts, King's dominion must be over sex offenders. ...I don't know what I'm saying anymore.

So King trademarked the word Candy, and they also trademarked the word Saga. Problem? Yeah, there's an obvious one. And they're also enforcing those trademarks.

OBJECTION Times Three In Three-Dee

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - And so far it's Japan on-ly!

Well, this shouldn't be breaking news to anyone, (it's news as of yesterday, but...) but Capcom has announced "Gyakuten Saiban 123 Naruhodou Collection". In English, that's Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice For All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials & Tribulations all on one 3DS card in 3D. Here's a Capcom-Unity official post for slightly more details.

Nintendo's Answer On Screwing Ace Attorney

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - When a digital download title cannot be downloaded...

Continuing off this previous article, it became clear that while Nintendo is crippling Capcom's sales of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, that we don't have to suffer this restriction. As in, things can change. But only if Nintendo is willing to change them. To that end, I decided to contact Nintendo myself.

Race-Baiting Infiltrating The Industry

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - This isn't an issue stuck just in the political realm.

Many years ago, when Resident Evil 5 from Capcom was first announced and revealed with a trailer, most people noticed how awesome the game looked. But some people chose to view the game differently... looking at it superficially. But not just "wow the game has sexy graphics it must be amazing" type of superficial... but by the colour of people's skins.

So as a result of black zombies in Africa (which is populated by a strong majority of black people), Resident Evil 5 is decried as racist by race-baiters across the Internet. These are punks looking to get hits on their websites and make a name for themselves. That concept may seem familiar to you, the reader, and that's probably why you're here. Well here's the difference between those people (dun dun dun) and me.
