The Madden Curse Struck John Madden, RIP

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Plus, some questions for the future.

You may have heard that American football legend John Madden died on December 28, a couple of days ago, at the age of 85 years old. His actual coaching feats earlier in his life became eclipsed by his name being the name of the Electronic Arts-published best-selling game franchise, Madden NFL. As a result, you can get a quick summary of what kind of fellow John Madden was from his memorial tweet:

John Madden commentated in the Madden NFL games until Madden NFL 09, eventually being replaced by Cris Collinsworth. That was a while ago, but his name was still on the games, and he always seemed happy about being synonymous with football. Madden NFL extended the appeal of the sport to a vastly wider audience than what would've been without it, and he's a cultural icon that way.

Here's how the market responded to the last Madden NFL game released before his death, Madden NFL 22:

FIFA 19 Releases; Box-Art Athlete Cristiano Ronaldo Accused of Rape

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Electronic Arts isn't in a good position, so they better hope it really is FAKE NEWS.

Last week, FIFA 19 released, to critical anticipation for people who enjoy playing Electronic Arts's sports games, which happens to be tens of millions of people. Personally, I don't care for soccer (or association football). In fact, I dislike it, as you'll find out if you click that hyperlink.

Anyway, a Portuguese guy named Cristiano Ronaldo is on the front cover of FIFA 19's box art, and he's a central focus of EA's marketing of the game (besides Alex Hunter — but for Nintendo Switch buyers, it's just Cristiano Ronaldo). He's among the top two soccer players in the world, next to Lionel Messi. As far as I can tell, Cristiano Ronaldo is the only reason why people around the world even know that Portugal exists.

FIFA 19 version comparison Ultimate Champions Standard Nintendo Switch Cristiano Ronaldo
Let's get my Nintendo Switch victimhood out of the way for this article:
Why is the “Nintendo Switch Edition” considered an alien?
Why isn't it on the Compare Products table?
Anyway, victimhood aside, the point is that Ronaldo is on the cover, and there's a “loan” benefit about him if you pay more money.

Unfortunately for Electronic Arts and their box art, Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of rape by an American woman named Kathryn Mayorga, reported in the German paper Der Spiegel one day after FIFA 19 released. Kind of bad timing. It turns out that the rape accusation, which depicts the act as occurring in 2009, existed to the public as of last year, but there wasn't a name of the accuser until now. Between 2017 and a week ago, it was just an anonymous rumour.

To make things unfortunate for Ronaldo's credibility, he reportedly doesn't deny the sex took place... but that it was consensual. Therefore, he denies the rape allegation and has called it “fake news.” Ronaldo and Mayorga already had an out-of-court settlement in 2010 for hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for her silence (thus no one knowing about a rape until 2017), but now she's breaking the terms of the settlement so she can ask for more money.

KoopaTV's August 2018 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - I wonder if school's gonna ruin things.

August has ended. Today is Labor Day in the United States, the unofficial end of the summer season. Didn't feel like summer over here. All we did was work. (Also, Koopa Kingdom is hot all year round, so the notion of seasons doesn't apply here.)

You're probably just interested in this newsletter having interesting stuff to talk about, so, sure, we have that. Check them out:

Top 5 Recommended Articles of August 2018

I don't have any complaints about our article content in August. Everything on KoopaTV is worth reading. You shouldn't have any complaints either, with a best-of line-up like this (chronologically-ordered) one:
  1. Super Smash Bros. at EVO 2018: A Mysterious Destiny — What happened at EVO 2018, how people responded to it, and Ludwig's thoughts. And, yes, it's mostly about Bayonetta and Super Smash Bros. For Wii U.
  2. Ashley has granted kids to Hell... What about Sakurai? — When you sit down and think about it, examining all the evidence... Ashley hasn't actually been confirmed to be an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We wonder why...
  3. Which utensil is more useful? Fork VS. Spoon Splatfest! — The August 2018 Splatfest asks which is the more useful utensil: Fork or Spoon? Ludwig has a favourite in spoon, but his own research indicates that fork is factually the better answer. What does he do?
  4. Fixed One-Time Cost vs. Microtransactions/Loot Boxes vs. Subscription Fee — Shigeru Miyamoto wants the game industry to embrace a subscription fee model more than it does right now. Let's analyse the payment models.
  5. Let's Hope There's No Madden Movie About The Jacksonville Shooting — KoopaTV is the site that did investigative journalism about the fate of the Madden Curse movie... and now we ask that there isn't one about the shooting at the Madden NFL tournament in Jacksonville, Florida.

Let's Hope There's No Madden Movie About The Jacksonville Shooting

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Let's also hope there's not another Jacksonville shooting that happens in the future that makes this article title ambiguous.

You probably have heard through any news outlet out there that there was a Madden NFL 19 tournament last weekend that got interrupted by an idiot competitor who shot the place, killing two people and himself, after losing in the winners and losers brackets. It was the Southeastern Qualifier for the Madden NFL 19 Classic tournament taking place at the GLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville, Florida — the winner of this 100+-man tournament would get $250 and qualify for the finals taking place in Las Vegas in October, for a prize pool of $165,000. The winner would get $25,000. Big stuff.

The competitor-turned-murderer, entered in the tournament as david_katz, competed against other names such as Young_Kiv (who we saw on-stage at the Electronic Arts E3 2018 press conference, as the winner of the Madden NFL 18 tournament), and the two deceased victims of the shooting, Trueboy and spotmeplzzz. (There is a gofundme for the victims here you can donate to.) A few handfuls of other people were wounded but are expected to recover.

After losing, he went outside, got his semiautomatic gun, came back to the tournament venue, and started shooting at people. Not necessarily at the people who beat him.

While I said david_katz lost the tournament, Florida investigators don't have a motive yet. The investigation is on-going. As such, KoopaTV will not ascribe a motive to the shooter's actions. Speculation here is dangerous. So let me talk about how this affects you.

Madden NFL 19: Colin Kaepernick? No big deal. Nintendo Switch? Real controversy

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Real talk about the real issue.

There was a minor uproar among the gaming and sports media about a song licensed for Electronic Arts's Madden NFL 19, which is available for Origin Access (and/or also for EA Access — why does EA have multiple of these programs?) right now, though the full game will be released next week on August 10.

The song was Big Bank by the rap artist YG. You can listen to it here, but it's quite explicit and also terrible listening. I don't recommend it. In any case, somehow people who listened to the song while playing the game managed to actually sit through and not mute their audio long enough to hear that the verse in the song that name-drops failed American football player Colin Kaepernick was brushed out and replaced with silence. (Around 2:12 in the song.)

EA has since apologised and will update their early access before-the-game-is-actually-launched build of the game once the weekend is over. Their explanation is basically that their content team didn't fully understand their legal team's instructions regarding licensed material, and they thought they didn't have the license to have Kaepernick's name in the song because they didn't have the license for him to appear in the game.

That explanation is very likely what actually happened (if you don't think that's the case, you probably haven't worked for a large company with a legal department — you tend to be on the safe side when working with licensed stuff), marking this one of the only times that, in all likelihood, Electronic Arts has told the truth in a statement.

The real controversy, to me, is that, once again and really, as usual, Electronic Arts is snubbing Nintendo. Madden NFL is still not on a Nintendo console since Madden NFL 13, after EA lied on their website about the popularity of the Wii U. Somehow, even FIFA 18 is on the Nintendo Switch (even if the only reason to buy a FIFA game, Alex Hunter, is not), but Madden? Nope.

Why does EA Sports (and Electronic Arts as a whole) despise Nintendo? Do you despise EA back? Which do you think is a bigger story: An honest mistake by EA about their legal rights around Colin Kaepernick, or the relationship between EA and Nintendo? Also, do you think that Big Bank song is horrible, and would you want to play American football to that sorry excuse for music?

Colin Kaepernick is famous for kneeling during the national anthem while he was still signed to a team, a move that KoopaTV approves of.
Ludwig notes what's happening with the Madden NFL series because KoopaTV is infamous for doing ground-breaking journalism efforts around the Madden Curse movie, from start-to-finish.
Ludwig doesn't have a particular hatred for rap songs sung by black people. He has a guilty pleasure for 50 Cent's song, Money.
FIFA 19 is on the Nintendo Switch, too. Still without Alex Hunter.
There is much, much more significant and non-filler news with Madden NFL 19 later in the month.

DON'T BUY THE NINTENDO LABO: What you NEED to know!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The Nintendo Labo has released today. Don't fall for its trickery.

Today, Nintendo released their build-it-yourself-peripheral-toys-to-play-shoddy-software combination, the Nintendo Labo.

By... sheer coincidence, of course, today KoopaTV formally declares war against Nintendo Labo and urges all readers to not purchase it. Anyone who has already bought a Labo is urged to return it to your retailer and get a refund.

Don't buy the Labo. It's as simple as that. That isn't... much of an article, so let's review what got us to this point, and why exactly the Nintendo Labo endangers the lives of you and (your?) children.

You SHOULD Kneel To Our Flag! Long Live Koopa Kingdom!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - America doesn't get it because you guys lack a KING.

Instead of important issues like healthcare and taxes, everyone wants to talk about American football. All I know about football is that the New England Patriots are assholes, the Atlanta Falcons are choke-artists, and Electronic Arts confirmed exclusively to KoopaTV that they canceled their planned Madden Curse movie.

Slightly more interesting than talking about the sport is that, all of a sudden (at least, to people who don't pay attention to this), the National Football League is at the centre of a culture war. I'm not really sure what it's actually about (neither do the combatants), but it is apparent that whatever the motivations for participating in the war, one side is expressing its displeasure with the United States by kneeling to the flag during the national anthem before the game starts. If I were a football player, I'd quit the sport if I had to listen to the Star-Spangled Banner every time I did my job. It's an awful song, and not even the Koopa Kingdom version of it (nor me singing the Koopa Kingdom version of it), the Shell-Spangled Banner, is enough to make it bearable. There's a reason we don't ever reference the Shell-Spangled Banner on this site.

Pixels: The 8-Bit Disaster

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Hollywood doesn't understand gaming culture.

I don't understand why Sony (or their movie division) decided to release Pixels in theatres. Or anywhere. Why does it exist? Obviously they saw the success of Wreck-It Ralph a few years ago and wanted to replicate it... except live-action and with Adam Sandler (acting and producing). I can't give a detailed analysis about the differences between Wreck-It Ralph and Pixels and why the first was critically acclaimed and well-liked by moviegoers and gamers alike, and why Pixels is just garbage. I'm a videogame blogger, not a movie analyst.

I do know this, though: Damn, Pixels really sucks. Not that I've watched it, mind you. But I don't think this is a case of "you can't trust the reviewers."

Pixels film Rotten Tomatoes score fresh
I like that it's a critic consensus that, apparently, Pac-Man is one of the worst arcade games.
These critics should go into gaming.

KoopaTV's Electronic Arts E3 2015 Conference Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Started off really well. ...Then sports...

It is absolutely no secret that KoopaTV has great displeasure for Electronic Arts. Still, we're objective people, right? If they have a good conference, then we'll acknowledge it!

Who are "we"? I'm Nintendork 13 13, RawkHawk2010 is RawkHawk2010, and Vortexica is breezinabout. We're gonna give you screenshots and live-reactions to everything that EA had to show for us!

Refill Your Need For Speed With Micro-Transactions!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - With Need For Speed: No Limits. With a sub-title like that, this article writes itself.

Electronic Arts isn't really reaching new lows, they're just redefining what it means to be low.

KoopaTV's disdain and contempt for everything related to Electronic Arts isn't going to stop just because we finally got to the bottom of the "Madden Curse" movie scandal. It turns out that EA can be very despicable with their business model as well.

According to "Android Police", who is apparently the source for the story — you should be able to identify that as a site I've never been to before, so if this is a hoax then it's going to our bad sources list —  EA is going to be charging to fill up your gas tank for their mobile release, Need For Speed: No Limits. Believe it or not, EA has a mobile division they're trying to make into a big thing, so as someone who despises both EA and mobile, sure I'll take opportunities to bash both in the same article!

...Just in case you missed it in that paragraph of extraneous information: Your in-game gas tank for your in-game car is finite, and to replenish it you will either have to wait for your car to magically replenish itself, or you can pay REAL MONEY to go to the gas station in-game.

This comes at a time period where we've had falling gas prices at the pump in America for the past several months (no thanks to the Obama administration), so EA is presumably enacting this as a time where filling up your gas tank is a lot more fun than, say, a few years ago.

Average United States price of gas from 2013 to 2015
We last looked at this chart almost a year ago, in March 2014. And my, have things dropped since.
How much will pumping your virtual gas tank cost? $2? So it's a one-gallon tank? What a terrible fuel economy. As for the in-game economy, there are apparently multiple currencies that are standard with free-2-play models that I don't really want to discuss because we don't know enough specifics, and I suspect you don't care about them.

Choice Texas: Now Fully Playable!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - It actually came out in one piece.

For all of the times I declared Choice: Texas to be aborted and their Indiegogo campaign contributors screwed, they came through right before 2014 ended and released the entire game. That's all five women's stories! But not just the women... but also the stories of the babies they are pregnant with, and sometimes the fathers of those babies, and even their families.

Five stories all with several different endings!

The home page for Play Choice: Texas, now done.
You can now play all five in any order.

For those of you who don't know about Choice: Texas (which was nominated for Best PC Game of 2014) and haven't followed the four articles I've written about it (which were nominated for best article series of 2014), you can... read the description on their site (also replicated in the screenshot above). That's also where you can play, of course.

But in my own words, it's a series of narrative trees about amalgamations of Texas women having kids that they did not plan for. You get to choose what the women do (assuming the option was written for it) and they all have varying circumstances to make things interesting.

KoopaTV's 2014 GOTY Nominations!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - And other categories.

These were decided and talked about in our [Koopa Keep] AOL Instant Messenger Blast. Behold!

...Yeah, sorry for the déjà vu from last year. This time, we have different categories since, you know, the year is different than 2013! It's 2014! (To be eligible, these have to be a thing from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.)

And just so you remember, that stands for "Game of THAT Year". That's the KoopaTV touch.

You might think the last category, "Worst KoopaTV Comment"  is really "Best KoopaTV Comment" if the goal is to make you laugh hysterically...

KoopaTV's GOTY 2014 nominations, and other categories.
A picture to make this sharable. Our articles haven't had pictures in 'em for a few days...

KoopaTV's December 2014 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Solving problems with just one word.

Now with the word "review" in the title, people won't be confused as to the nature of this series of articles, right? ...Or should it be "Newsletter Review"? Well, I'm not reviewing newsletters here, I'm writing one!

While this newsletter may not be jam-packed, KoopaTV's December 2014 sure was! As promised or implied, it was one article after another of amazing stuff. You know, like last year.

And even if you just read KoopaTV for the amusing behind-the-scenes goings-on between our staff, there was stuff for you this month, with more than one staff shake-up!

So as usual, here are my top five recommended articles from that month, in chronological order. One of them shouldn't surprise you:
  1. Taking Down Sarkeesian's Victim Culture Once And For All!
  2. Microsoft and Sony's Racial Obsessions
  3. Madden Curse Movie: CANCELED!?
  4. North Korean antics leave Sony out in the cold this Christmas
  5. Play DEFEND ANITA SARKEESIAN right here!

As usual, we got more and more great stuff comin' up in the pipeline, or at least in my head. But first, we got Game of THAT Year to take care of, startin' tomorrow. So be around for that, okay?

By the way, every article on the site is worth reading. All nearly 450 of 'em. This being the first for 2015!

I sort of doubt that Defend Anita Sarkeesian will take up as much resources to promote and be a big thing like Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!, since Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! was considered critical to the KoopaTV message and Defend Anita Sarkeesian isn't. (After all, it wasn't even our idea.)

We don't have any ideas for 2015's KoopaTV game... although you wouldn't see it until after the second half of 2015, right?

KoopaTV thrives only when you help share it around, so do your part!

The 2015 Resolutions of KoopaTV's Staff

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - We'll check back later if these are met.

Before we get into our own resolutions and check to see if we met the ones from last year, let's see if Masahiro Sakurai met his resolution.

Sakurai resolved to complete Super Smash Bros. For 3DS/Wii U and release them both in 2014.

Did he do it? Yes, and yes, in all regions! A lot of people doubted him, but Sakurai came through and showed them how wrong they all were. Not only did he complete those games, but they were both great. Anticipate seeing them both in this year's KoopaTV Game of THAT Year awards series.

Speaking of Super Smash Bros., last year disgraced ex-staffer YoshiRider123 made it his resolution to play Super Smash Bros. 4. Though we no longer talk to one another, I can confirm that he at least owns Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, or else this self-pitying Miiverse post would not be able to exist.

Ike Marth Robin Chrom Super Smash Bros. For Wii U suppose I'll get my chance another day trophies Fire Emblem
Leave Chrom on the ground, please.

As for RawkHawk2010, although he is on unpaid administrative leave right now, I can safely confirm that he has played Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

As for me, I met my resolutions as well. KoopaTV has been promoted much more in 2014 than 2013, if view-counts mean anything. Not only that, but we have opened ourselves up to having AFFILIATES during this year! Own your own site? Better get on that. We'd love to have ya, and you'd love to have us.

Are KoopaTV's articles more in-depth in 2014 than 2013? Well, there's no objective way to measure that. So let's move on. Has my gaming backlog had serious dents made? Yes! ...But in terms of net change, it has only grown bigger. But hey, if we ignore additions made throughout 2014 to that thing and just look at what it was at the end of 2013 and only look at those games, it went down. I still haven't played Fire Emblem Awakening though.

My last resolution for 2014 was to "get to the bottom of the Madden Curse scandal." ...This was the most ambitious of my resolutions. And guess what? ...We did it. We're not gonna get any more bottom than that!

Okay, time for our NEW SET OF RESOLUTIONS:

Starting with YoshiRider123, who is not in our staff but I still want his here for reference. He vows, as head of the shithole known as NSider2, to help it reach its full potential. I'm guessing that means totally ruin it NeoGAF-style.

For RawkHawk2010, he said it was "to be". (As opposed to "not to be", he explains.)

And now for our actual staff members.

Vortexica starts us off horribly with, "My New Years resolution is to continue my earnest tradition of not making New Years resolutions." Well, how am I supposed to keep him accountable?!

Kamek "would like to get my foot in the door for learning Japanese. Like, maybe all of the Hiragana...Become more masterful of my French and Spanish... Aaaaaand lose weight. That's on everyone's list. ...Aaaaaand work out more. Manage time more wisely. And get a new job."

...Um, by "new job", he better not be talking about leaving KoopaTV.

Now, time for yours truly, the High Prince of Koopa Kingdom. I have an internal goal as to the traffic for KoopaTV I want to achieve for 2015 that I think is totally do-able at our growth rate. (Not gonna share it with y'all but I'll let you know if we met it.) My resolution is to give KoopaTV's only unexplored month, February, a spectacular time. I want it to be amazing! On that note, no month-long hiatus ever again. I want to continue our success into 2015. I also resolve to hold the new Republican majority in Congress accountable in the same manner I held the Democrat Party and President Barack Hussein Obama accountable. I campaigned hard to get 'em in, now they better damn be good. I also vow to actually play Fire Emblem Awakening in 2015. In addition, my last KoopaTV-related resolution is to create a satisfactory navigation system. And my last resolution period? Gain weight. Yeah, take that, Kamek!

Update: I thought of another thing I want to get done. I want to stop sleeping so late, so I want to be asleep before 11:30 PM every night.

Cheers, and have a happy 2015.

Ludwig has gotten many more Followers to his Miiverse account since last year, and thinks he can easily surpass 300 Followers by the end of 2015. Why not help that happen sooner by Following him at NNID PrinceOfKoopas? (Unless you already have... then stick around!)

The New About Page

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - One About page for all your needs. Will be ACTUALLY UPDATED.

Time to do two things: One, de-mystify KoopaTV with an About page that will be maintained. And two, combine our perfectly good existing "About KoopaTV" page with our sorely lacking "About Us" page into one, to save some space for those page tabs at the top of the site.

Oh, and three: We're gonna keep a TIMELINE here of KoopaTV! Now you can follow key events without hassle!

Play DEFEND ANITA SARKEESIAN right here!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - KoopaTV's Christmas gift to you is a new game to play, for free, right here!

It has been a while since we released a new game, hasn't it? Here we go: It is called Defend Anita Sarkeesian and it is the spiritual sequel (in revenge fantasy form) to the Beat Up Anita Sarkeesian game released back in July 2012 (not by KoopaTV or anyone affiliated with us). By the way, you can't play Beat Up Anita Sarkeesian anywhere on the Internet right now. There was a file dump of it... that was removed midway through the development of Defend Anita Sarkeesian.

All you need to play this Defend Anita Sarkeesian game is a mouse or some kind of clicking device, and Adobe Flash Player! It's right after the page-break, so please read more.

By the way... the origins of this game are... perplexing. As in, KoopaTV didn't come up with it. We were used as code-monkeys in a similar way to how Namco was used as code-monkeys for Masahiro Sakurai for Super Smash Bros. 4. More on that after the page-break as well. Also after the page-break are some media materials for you to use if you want to cover this game.

Madden Curse Movie: CANCELED!?

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - 2014 is ending very soon... and we got an answer!

Remember KoopaTV at the very beginning of January 2014? That seems so long ago now, but together we have now reached the end of 2014. Well, back then, I made a resolution:
"get to the bottom of the Madden Curse scandal."
We sent out an e-mail to Angela Souvanarra, the new Electronic Arts PR woman over half a year ago. Apparently, unlike Elizabeth Brett, she still works there!

Let's send another! This time, via direct e-mail, not the EA Press Contact Form. How do I know what EA's e-mail addresses look like? One day, I got an automatic reply from these people showing the format. First initial and then last name. (Click that to see the first "Madden Curse" movie article that started this all.) With this, I can e-mail anyone in the company. As I did with Pat O'Brien, head of EA Entertainment, on October 26, 2014.

Disclosure: I tried e-mailing Angela again with ASouvanarra@ea.com, but it failed. So maybe EA changed their e-mail system, or... she's dead and EA deleted her.

KoopaTV Live Reacts: The Game Awards FIRST HALF

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Didn't we learn our lesson last year?

The Game Awards is the sequel to last year's VGX. (AKA the worst live reaction log in KoopaTV's history.) For whatever reason, we're watching its sequel despite vowing to not watch this shit ever again.

And you get to read us suffer.

I'm Nintendork 13 13, and RawkHawk2010 is himself. Enjoy us making Ferguson and Garner references while wondering why Nintendo is treated so badly.

Hideo Kojima's glasses.
Wireframe Little Mac plays guitar, so that's cool.
The live reaction log continues where this one ends.

An Attempted Interview With Moneyhorse and North Korea

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The dudes supporting Kim Jong Un.

I don't want to create an impression that KoopaTV is a site that keeps trying to have interviews and keeps being denied them. I mean, we got a reply from the President of the United States. It shouldn't be that difficult to be able to talk to folks.

Regardless, we tried to interview Moneyhorse LLC like we promised, about their Glorious Leader! project. For those who do not remember, back in May 2014 these guys from a company called Moneyhorse announced they would make a Kim Jong Un-based videogame that is sort of a rip-off of Contra. It got a ton of attention for being a wild idea from a lot of the videogame press, but they all forgot about it a week later. After that, a lot of Chinese people apparently really liked the idea and clinged to it long enough to get it greenlit on Steam.

Bringing this out of article hell for a game in development hell?

Still, with the recent news that the North Koreans have hacked Sony (who seems to be getting hacked a lot recently), this seems like a good time to see how Glorious Leader! has progressed instead of keeping the "interview" in article hell.

...It hasn't progressed.

The Miyamoto Cinema

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - With any luck, filmography will be Miyamoto's full-time passion.

Remember on Wednesday during that Nintendo Direct, when Shigeru Miyamoto showed up and we all thought he would ruin the Direct by talking about bad, boring things like Project Giant Robot? Well, as you should remember, he did not do that. He talked about Pikmin 3 and some movies he was making with them instead. ...And Flipnote Studio too.

You can see the trailer up above (which is different than what was presented during the Direct), and you should also have gotten information on it delivered to you on your 3DS and Wii U. (If you got 'em. ...And you ought to.)
