Jareditton Presents: KoopaTV.org Music Video Reaction

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - A super-scrumptious salute to a super-scrumptious song.

KoopaTV continues our celebration of our new domain name. Or, rather, we celebrate someone else's celebration.

You should remember Jareditton as that amazing guy on YouTube who Let's Played through Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!. You can watch that entire thing here, and you should. This time, he amazingly reacts to our amazing music video:

If you can't view that for whatever reason or want to go directly to his YouTube video, click here. But now, just a small reaction to his reaction. (Okay, it ended up being detailed and also awesome. You better keep reading.)

Get a BB-8 Display, Donate to Charity: Watch Jareditton!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The exciting “get” part is only feasible if you're in New Mexico to pick it up, though.

I think New Mexico is getting a really bad rap in the news lately. Donald Trump just had a great rally inside a venue there (according to him), but everyone is only talking about what happened outside of it. Which was chaos, with protestors attacking Albuquerque, New Mexico police with rocks and bottles. If I were them, I'd shoot those scum. (People have been killed in self-defence, while getting away with it, for having less or nothing at all!)

Donald Trump New Mexico Albuquerque convention center tweet Twitter riot protesters thugs Mexican flag
Donald Trump's news reporting on the New Mexico rally.

If you only want to focus on the “thugs”, then yeah, it's a terrible place. But the big, beautiful rally inside represents the goodness in the hearts of many of the New Mexico people.

One of those is KoopaTV darling Jareditton. Jareditton is organising a charity stream on his YouTube channel, with the exact stream link here. Details can be found on this Facebook event, but we actually have details that his event page does not. Because I asked him.

We have the full story about the charity stream, but to get the critical information prior to the page break: It's 1 PM to 9 PM Mountain time this Thursday and Friday (May 26 and May 27). That's 3 PM to 11 PM Eastern. Watch it at his YouTube channel. The charity is Children's Miracle Network, and you can pick up a BB-8 display stand. It looks like this:

Jareditton presents: Let's Play Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - A champion Let's Play for a champion game.

KoopaTV has been asking for a while, and we've finally gotten it: The PC Game of the Year 2013 has a Let's Play on YouTube! It's Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!, playable here right on KoopaTV in your browser for free

Presented by a YouTuber named Jareditton. Maybe subscribe to him, because based off what KoopaTV watched of his channel (only the Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! stuff), the kid actually is a master artist. On our level. The best way to see why is to watch his Let's Play of Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!, embedded across three videos below!

They're hilarious not only because of the source material, but because of him. See below the page-break for the videos! (Putting a page-break here so cleaner loading of the main page!)

KoopaTV's April 2015 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - April showers? Well, it was a success.

Did you know that April 2015 was KoopaTV's most-heavily-trafficked month in our history? I wanna hear from you, dear reader/viewer/player... did you experience traffic jams? Are they worse than Atlanta's or are they still pretty smooth?

Either way, the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program is in full swing! The first round is extra long for some reason, so Round 1 is ending 11:59 PM EST on May 30. As of publishing, your top candidates for winning prizes (top 3 = win something) are as follows:
  1. Martino X — 36 points
  2. Samantha Lienhard — 30 points
  3. Jareditton — 20 points
  4. Ringabel Brave — 19 points
  5. Anthony Shaffer & Sam — 9 points each
And then there's everyone else below that. That said, it's absolutely still entirely mathematically possible for someone to enter starting today and win the contest (first place). In fact, it's not only possible, but practical. You can get up to three points per day just by making one awesome comment per day on any KoopaTV article. (Read the rules for full details and other ways to earn points.) You can end this with over 70 points and dominate first place. Just sayin'.

We have over 500 articles published, so finding interesting stuff to comment on isn't hard at all! That's because KoopaTV turns two years old in May!

If you haven't heard the news, Ludwig got his Facebook back. Read that updated article. The KoopaTV Facebook is fortunately now eviscerated, though a debate rages on in KoopaTV's AIM Blast over whether or not we should make another attempt at a Facebook presence. You can join the debate by joining our staff!

You can also make determinations on our top five recommended articles every month. The following is a chronologically-ordered list of articles published during April 2015! Read and experience these for sure!
  1. Announcing KoopaTV BLK™
  2. 200cc — Death of F-Zero?
  3. Jareditton presents: Let's Play Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!!
  4. An Unbehooving Truth
  5. Play Free-To-Play Every Day
There are a lot of other articles from this month that didn't make it to that list, and it's obvious why: KoopaTV is big on article quality, so everything is worth reading.

So with our second anniversary coming up next week, you better believe we're committed to bringing you truth and levity every weekday!

Oh, shortly after publishing this, I made a new tab called Games. This is so you can see all of our Games in one page.

Stay tuned to KoopaTV for more magnificent writing and art on the videogame industry! Share with your friends wherever they may be, even on Facebook!

KoopaTV's Electronic Arts E3 2015 Conference Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Started off really well. ...Then sports...

It is absolutely no secret that KoopaTV has great displeasure for Electronic Arts. Still, we're objective people, right? If they have a good conference, then we'll acknowledge it!

Who are "we"? I'm Nintendork 13 13, RawkHawk2010 is RawkHawk2010, and Vortexica is breezinabout. We're gonna give you screenshots and live-reactions to everything that EA had to show for us!

KoopaTV's Electronic Arts E3 2016 Conference Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Get the historically worst one out of the way.

It is the first live reaction log brought to you by KoopaTV for E3 2016! Wow! It's awesome to be doing this with y'all again, and for the first time ever, we start off with Electronic Arts.

I'm Nintendork 13 13, Rawk is himself, and Vortexica is breezinabout. We have some fun thoughts.

The New About Page

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - One About page for all your needs. Will be ACTUALLY UPDATED.

Time to do two things: One, de-mystify KoopaTV with an About page that will be maintained. And two, combine our perfectly good existing "About KoopaTV" page with our sorely lacking "About Us" page into one, to save some space for those page tabs at the top of the site.

Oh, and three: We're gonna keep a TIMELINE here of KoopaTV! Now you can follow key events without hassle!

Jimmy Kimmel Falling Flat on Watching Gamers Play?

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - I think he stood tall, or tall enough anyway.

Some weeks ago, the comedian Jimmy Kimmel (I was almost done with this article thinking it was Jimmy Fallon, and had to go and change all references of Fallon to Kimmel. ...Who the hell is Jimmy Kimmel?) made fun of the new YouTube Gaming feature. It's basically a much-worse Twitch. He had this whole comedy bit over how strange/pointless it is that so-called gamers (really "watchers") would watch other people play videogames and spend a lot of time doing that. And because the mainstream gaming community is incredibly sensitive, he got a ton of hate comments and death threats. So he made a response video, got more of that, and then made another video featuring him and YouTube gaming celebrities.

So there's three videos in this whole scenario, each with millions of views. That's THREE things to respond to! And that's convenient for Rule of Three. So I'll give my thoughts on it all, and if you've been following my KoopaTV columns you probably won't be that surprised at my thoughts. But they're good consumption anyway, and a better use of your time than watching some Let's Player. So let's get started.

Why I Don't Watch YouTube Personalities

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Well, I can only speak for myself... but it's for your benefit.

If ya have read select previous KoopaTV articles, you might get the impression we got something against YouTube personalities. And you'd be right.

Whether it was Rawk (RIP) with his very selective war against JonTron, or me repeatedly deeming YouTubers as “talentless” or comparing them to slaveowners (which is not a compliment given KoopaTV's slew of pro-Confederacy articles — not to mention our KoopaTV-exclusive game Capture the Confederate Flag), we got a distinct anti-YouTuber attitude here. I mean, I even went and wrote an article more-or-less agreeing with Jimmy Kimmel about how lame YouTube Gaming is. There's nothing inherent about a video-sharing platform that results in losers rising to the top, but that's apparently the case and what's happened.

So when people ask me “What YouTubers do you watch?” — and multiple people have asked me that, because it's culturally a standard thing to follow YouTubers like it is to drink coffee and/or tea — and I respond “None”, I get weird stares or emoticons. And it's not just not watching “gamers” on YouTube — I don't watch people in general.

KoopaTV's Electronic Arts E3 2017 Conference Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - The start of E3 Weeks 2017!

It begins: The first of the many KoopaTV reaction log articles that will be produced during E3 2017! This one is by Electronic Arts. Not content with staying in the same calendar week as the rest of E3, Electronic Arts has decided to move their conference to the calendar week before hand. Will this start a trend to be manifested in 2018? Either way, it's why we're calling this E3 Weeks 2017, as seen in our Schedule.

So, the KoopaTV staff is here, sitting on our chairs. Well, most of us. To be exact, the folks that showed up for the company that is perpetually always rated poorly by our staff for their E3 presentations are myself, RawkHawk2010, and Vortexica. (Guess Wendy's chair burned down, and Roxy is... gonna do something for the end of E3. Kamek? I dunno about that guy.)

KoopaTV's Nintendo World Championships Treehouse Live PRE-SHOW Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - What's with the announcement at the end?! Wow!

Seriously guys, we thought this would be Nintendo Treehouse people babbling endlessly, but this moved on from that pretty quickly for BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Nintendo World Championships 2015 logo #NWC2015
YEAH!
I'm Nintendork 13 13, Rawk is himself, Vortex is breezin. Let's go. Seriously. Big announcements.

Come PLAY Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! *Updated With Strategy Guides*

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Click "read more" if you're not directly in this article.

I'd like to start off by saying that Punch-Out!! week has been a fun experience. Some of you may be wondering why this week happened. Well, it was for this: KoopaTV has just finished developing a Punch-Out!!-styled videogame that's absolutely free. (If it wasn't we'd be sued.) I wrote about the gameplay of Punch-Out!!, the characters of Punch-Out!!, the cultural aspect of Punch-Out!!, and the business side of Punch-Out!!. But to truly appreciate the game, you really need to play Punch-Out!!. So we made a game that you wouldn't have to pay for, if you missed Nintendo's generous 30 cent offer. And even if you didn't and just want some more action... it's here!

KoopaTV's October 2015 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - We get to claim victimhood, too. Plus, Round 5 begins!

KoopaTV has all the news and videogame commentary unfit to print or to air, so we're stuck to a poorly-made website (with a cool domain name) instead. That said, we're fundamentally your website. So we wanna let you know what's happened over the past month and how you can help make your own site (by which I mean this one) better. Get ready, we got headers and anchors again.

More Censorship

This sucks to say, but we have more news continuing off a series of bad news. We've told you before how KoopaTV's videogame Defend Anita Sarkeesian got censored to hell from our content-hosting website. Then last month, Part 4 of our guide to Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! also got removed. Well it turns out that on October 1st, Trayvon Tyson's Punch-Out!! itself got censored.

"We removed this project because it is too violent or scary for the Scratch website. Scratch is for kids ages 8 and up, so it's important that everything shared is appropriate for all ages."

This is a huge loss for the world, but fortunately you can see most of what the game had to offer by watching Jareditton's Let's Play of it here. Of course, there's nothing like playing the game, and you can get the file to download and play on your computer if you ask me nicely.

KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program Round 4 Results

Of course, you want to know who won. It's not really a surprise since we have this whole publicly-available spreadsheet, but here are the final standings between September 1 and October 30 for the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program!

Watch Kamek's Tom Clancy's The Division Stream!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - He's going to play through (some of?) story mode.

True to what we published yesterday, Kamek bought Tom Clancy's The Division! I also said that we probably wouldn't cover anything about it post-release, but KoopaTV breaks what's probable all the time.

Since he just got it (after a long download process — silly digital downloading folks!), he needs to go through story mode first. Plus, Ubisoft has scheduled maintenance this night for the multiplayer servers. Gotta make sure they aren't busted already. Early and often, that's what I say!

So, check out Kamek's Twitch stream here. He's streaming as of after this is published. I'll be watching.

Just a warning: The game is M-rated, so, um, yeah. You're not supposed to watch if you're under 17.

Tom Clancy's The Division language options profile setup English
English only.
By the way, did I ever mention Kamek has a sexy, manly voice? He does.

You can/should also follow/subscribe to Kamek's Twitch so you can watch his stuff without a KoopaTV article telling you to. He streams... irregularly.

Tom Clancy's The Division character creator customizable Bandit Keith Ubisoft
If you don't watch, you'll miss the Bandit Keith impersonation.

If you missed the stream for March 9, Kamek says he'll stream more the night of March 10! (Around 10:30 PM.)

Kamek obviously didn't write this article because he's the one putting the stream together. What'd you expect? That's what we have staff for. DIVISION of labour. (Ludwig thinks he's brilliant for that pun.)

KoopaTV later asks that you watch Jareditton's live stream of Star Wars games. There's a twist with this request: There is also a charity component!
Kamek's streams are so important they continue to get articles dedicated to their existence. This time for Yooka-Laylee!

Affiliates and Recommended Sites

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Places to avoid, too. And also how to become an affiliate!

With all that's going on in the news recently about the lack of journalistic integrity in gaming journalism (and journalism in general), KoopaTV wants to stand apart from that crowd. While we're not a news site (we're a commentary blog) we do need to get our news from places so we know what to comment on. The news must be reliable.

At the same time, we acknowledge there are other sites out there who also stand for things like truth, and may be good reads in general. Since we want to attract educated clientele (or attract lesser-so people and then transform them into such) we want to share as many good sources as we can! So KoopaTV is holding an affiliate program

About Affiliates

What does it mean to be an affiliate of KoopaTV? A member of our staff will read whatever your content is whenever you have (new) content, and if it's relevant we'll use it as reference material the same way we use our own articles. In return, you also feature KoopaTV on your site. Preferably representing us with this cool banner in a prominent location on the site while linking to our home page. Basically, we direct people to one another. If you're interested, drop a comment here. We're looking for sites that have quality content that update at least semi-frequently and look like they won't drop off the planet anytime soon.

E-mail us at affiliates(at)koopatv.org if you're interested.

Affiliates List:

  1. Jareditton the YouTuber
    • Entertaining YouTube channel covering videogames. Is a big fan of KoopaTV and has covered some of our stuff on his channel!
  2. samanthalienhard.com
    • Author and KoopaTV supporter. Writes about video games and her fiction.

KoopaTV's Microsoft E3 2018 Conference Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - We might eventually call it Xbox E3 2018, if not for the fact that everything is also on Windows 10.

It's time for the first competent gaming company of E3 to present their gamer-focused press conference: Microsoft! How will Phil Spencer, now Executive President of Gaming at Microsoft (up from Head of Xbox), impress us this year? Microsoft was definitely hyping up this conference, so they have a lot to deliver for!

Carrying this reaction log are myself and RawkHawk2010, with Wendy O. Koopa napping until the end.

Check out our full E3 Weeks 2018 schedule here!

KoopaTV's Live Reactions to The Game Awards 2016!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Spoilers: It's terrible, and we're asleep at the end.

Every year in early December, that thug Geoff Keighley hosts some kind of award show for the videogame industry, and the major gaming companies always sponsor it. It's always awful. Yet, without fail, KoopaTV has been live reacting to it since our own inception. Why? WHY DO WE KEEP DOING THIS TO OURSELVES?

The Game Awards 2016 content warning offensive viewer discretion is advised
The following program DID contain content that some viewers found offensive.
Viewer discretion is highly recommended, and I wish we had some.

This year, the only two staffers masochistic enough to sit around for it were myself, in this live reaction log as Nintendork 13 13, and RawkHawk2010, in this live reaction log as RawkHawk2010. Well, here we go, I guess. Read our reactions below:

KoopaTV's Sony E3 2016 Conference Live Reactions

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Space bullets, orchestras, and I hope that headset is a joke.

Time to finish up the last company press conference of Monday for E3 2016: Sony. The big company in the lead. The company that most people are looking forward to. But do they live up to expectations?

I'm Nintendork 13 13 in this live reaction log. Joining me are Rawk (named conveniently after himself) and Vortexica (breezinabout). We're reacting to Sony's conference as it happens in our AIM Blast, [Koopa Keep]!

Keep Those YouTubers Away From Nintendo! Nintendo Creators Program!

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - Exposing the fraudulent YouTube celebrities.

Props to Nintendo. They're making the hard, but correct choices. Back in 2013, I wrote an article that was very supportive of Nintendo taking monetisation away from the for-profit YouTubers who relied on using Nintendo's intellectual property to make money. After over a year later, those talentless hacks managed to achieve a shift in Nintendo's policy: Introducing, the Nintendo Creators Program!

Note that it's not "Nintendo Creators' Program". The "creators" (the content creators, being the YouTubers) don't own it. At all times, Nintendo is in charge here. Nintendo explains it with this,
The Nintendo Creators Program is a service through which Nintendo gives you part of the advertising proceeds it receives from YouTube for your Nintendo-related YouTube videos."
In other words, Nintendo is doing you a favour by giving you anything. It's sort of like the mentality that the federal government is trying to give to its citizens: The government owns all of your money, and it doesn't tax all 100% of it just because it pities you.

...Except unlike the government's, Nintendo's claim here is very legitimate. The government's claim is just theft via force, and the IRS should be abolished. But that's the subject for a series of other articles already written.

Nintendo Creators Program explanation, YouTube advertising revenue
You give Nintendo money when you buy the game.
Then Google gives Nintendo money when you film the game.
...Then Nintendo gives you some money back, and soon, you'll pay off the game's purchase price!
