So you would potentially have infected people whose real travel history you don't know, versus knowing where they're from because they didn't sneak.Samantha Lienhardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00050896759185927270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7803482805925136251.post-88028548192118332492014-10-17T07:57:08.400-04:002014-10-17T07:57:08.400-04:00But Africa gets very deadly viruses all the time, ...But Africa gets very deadly viruses all the time, right?

Who would panic? It makes sense, when you think about it. Umbrella was researching a very deadly virus in Africa.

I think the CDC's concern is that people would panic, and start sneaking, and then you'd have people with Ebola HIDING. But they (and lots of countries) should have been doing more to help months ago.Samantha Lienhardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00050896759185927270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7803482805925136251.post-12713440017156010892014-10-17T00:47:06.239-04:002014-10-17T00:47:06.239-04:00So RE's inspiration was a virus from the 1970s...So RE's inspiration was a virus from the 1970s that wasn't reaaallly that significant at the time?
And just now is?
Well, guess we better see big Resident Evil collections being announced now.

(Rawk came up with Chuckola Bola.)

The CDC guy's logic is nonexistent. Your resident survival horror expert is here...AHEM! Your resident survival horror expert is here to educate you! True Resident Evil diehards who have followed all of the lore, like me (except the RE6 and onward stuff, I don't know about that yet), will know that Ebola is actually at the root of the Resident Evil series. The Umbrella corporation began studying Ebola and how it could be used as a bio-weapon. The idea of an Ebola patient in the late stage of infection who would be kept alive, be able to walk around, and infect others is what led to the research and development of the T-virus. (Though the T-virus was not created from Ebola, just inspired by their research on it.)

...I know, I should be laughing about Chuckola Bola, and instead I went into full-fledged Resident Evil nerd mode.

(Also, the CDC says closing the borders would make things worse. I actually think the president's idea to close the infected countries' borders for 21-42 days and use that time to try to get the outbreak there under control is a good idea.)Samantha Lienhardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00050896759185927270noreply@blogger.com
