KoopaTV's September 2017 Review Newsletter

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - There's a special guest-writing promotion for Ace Attorney this month...you could get a prize.

Let's talk about what happened on KoopaTV during September 2017, shall we? There's a lot I want to promote in this space... opportunities you can only find on KoopaTV! Enrich your life, right on this site! Since I want to help myself help you, I'll start with things relating to the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program first, which I suggest you make yourself very familiar with if you enjoy winning FREE STUFF.

Mid-Round 16 KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program Leaderboard

  1. Kody B. — 24 points
  2. ShinyGirafarig — 16 points
  3. Lheticus Videre — 15 points
  4. charssie god — 10 points
  5. Samantha Lienhard — 8 points

These are disappointing and atypically low numbers. I don't think my expectations are too high here. If you guys are trying to mindgame one another by waiting for the end to make a big push for points (which I'll get to how very shortly, not that I endorse this as a strategy) and being afraid to take much of a lead or make a noticeable run for points, then, uh, that's a strategy, but it goes against what the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program is supposed to do in terms of generating activity (and it's a risky way to get that $10 Nintendo eShop card code). You'll also be depriving yourself opportunities to affect the site's content and give our staff feedback.

We'd also be deprived of you. We like you. Don't do that. Remember, getting points is as simple as leaving non-anonymous comments on the site. Or, if you like big-ticket values...

The Ace Attorney Guest Posting Contest

For THIS MONTH only (and last month, but no one submitted anything in September), submit a guest post to KoopaTV with the goal of your article being to get a newcomer to want to buy Ace Attorney games and get into the franchise, and you will get 150% more points for the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program!

The rules and guidelines are the same as any other guest post (and you can read more about that here), and you can of course submit guest posts about any other topic during this time period. There's just a higher incentive for this particular topic during this particular time.

Say you write an outstanding guest post. 10/10. You'd get 15 points times 1.5 (rounding UP!) for 23 points. That's certainly enough to rocket you up to the top of the leaderboard. PLUS, you should fill out KoopaTV Feedback Form Part XII and KoopaTV Quiz Part XII for even more easy points. (Point values can be found on the KoopaTV Loyalty Rewards Program page.)

Top Five Recommended Articles of September 2017

Of course, KoopaTV is mostly about our posts, not yours. (We love yours, though. ...Unless you don't know how to write, which is partly the subject of one of these featured articles!) And we write beautiful articles. Here are the top five recommended articles of September 2017, in chronological order. ...Oh, by the way... every article on KoopaTV is worth reading.

  1. Mario: Once a Plumber, Always a Plumber — Sources claim that Mario is no longer a plumber, but this is a ridiculous notion.
  2. Should The Number Nine Be Nixed? — There is a trend of companies skipping the number nine when naming things. Is this a good idea?
  3. Not Even Apollo Justice, Ace Attorney, Can Defend This FAKE NEWS — The September 13 Nintendo Direct was a big source of inaccurate information regarding Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.
  4. Marvel vs. Capcom vs. Franziska's LashMarvel vs. Capcom: Infinite lacks Ace Attorney representation, and Marvel snubbed Rawk's audition.
  5. Don't Keep All Your Eggs in a STEM Basket — Why increased funding for STEM education is missing a big foundational problem.
Hm, for some reason, all of the articles published on a Tuesday got into the top five. Weird.

Also, hopefully you noticed something different about this month's top five: one-sentence descriptions telling you something about the article. Maybe you'll be more likely to click if you know that information.

KoopaTV's Next Videogame In Development

In case you missed the low-profile announcement, we're officially informing you that our next videogame, due for release at the end of 2017, is well underway. It's in beta, in fact.

I won't bother to ask for beta-testers since I know I won't get any.

Please look forward to it.

Corrections Corner

There were no corrections made in the month of September 2017. Another flawless, 100% accurate performance on KoopaTV. ...As you should expect. ...Perfection IS your expectation, right? Well, if it's not, then we can say we're EXCEEDING your expectations! Oh ho ho!

Nintendo Switch Pricing Tracker

Here are the prices for the Nintendo Switch on Amazon during the month of September.

Nintendo Switch Amazon prices chart graph September 2017
That slide at the end wasn't just for one day.
For up-to-the-day prices, please see the embedded chart in this article. You may notice that Super Mario Odyssey is now there, while the prices for the Neon and Gray Switch consoles are now at MSRP.

Putting together monthly pricing charts is sort of a pain in the ass because Google Sheets is crap in terms of charts (you cannot manually assign series names to the data for the legend? What the hell kind of functionality is that?), so I'll stop doing that and you can just use your eyes on the master chart.

Ludwig didn't actually do any clean-up of KoopaTV's Miiverse embeds because he's a procrastinator for big projects like that, but he blew a whole month. His excuse is that he's been using his free time working on the new KoopaTV game. He would rather spend his free time playing his Nintendo Switch. With the ability to get a Nintendo Switch at MSRP, now is a great time to buy one. If you are still too poor, then enjoy the free entertainment provided at KoopaTV every day (and possibly the free stuff!), and tell your friends all about KoopaTV! ...Oh, and don't forget to participate in that Ace Attorney contest, along with the feedback form.

For last month's newsletter (where a lot of this information was recycled), click here.
Next month's newsletter has the conclusion to Round 16, and no Nintendo Switch pricing chart.
For last year's September 2016 newsletter, which was a lot less informative than this one, click here.
For next year's September 2018 newsletter, which is... equally informative compared to this one, click here.
While it didn't get any external beta-testers, KoopaTV's 2017 game is here and hopefully doesn't have game-breaking glitches!

  1. The last time I waited to do the feedback form and quiz I forgot about them, and by the time I remembered it was already too late. That is why I just submitted both of them.

    1. Thanks! You did perfect on the quiz.

When you talk about background, do you mean that red gradient?

    2. Yes, that was exactly what I was referring to. I couldn't really think of anything else that I hated so that is why I went with that.

    3. ...Yeah, you don't see much of it, at least not on my-size monitor, so I personally don't give it any thought.

  2. I was overwhelmed with too many things so I did not participate as much this time.
